I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
 differentiate what is traditional media from new media
 identify the relationship of traditional media and new media
 appreciate the evolution of traditional media to new media
 create a poster about evolution of traditional media to new media
II. Content

C. Method/Motivation (5 minutes)
 The students are divided into 4 groups.

 Direction: Each group are provided with printed puzzle; all you have to
do is to find the 8 hidden words in the crossword puzzle. The first
group who will finish will be declared as the winner.
 Note: Wrong spelling wrong. If the winner group has an erroneous
word(s), the next to finish group will be declare as a winner.

 Direction: With the same group, the learner will list 5 (five) traditional
media and new media.
 Each group will be given 5 minutes to create their output through
PowerPoint.
 Choose 1 representative to present your output.

Evolution of Traditional to New Media

 The Students will a watch video presentation about the evolution of


media.
 Note: please take down notes.
 Prehistoric technology - is technology that predates recorded history.
History is the study of the past using written records. Anything prior to the
first written accounts of history is prehistoric, including earlier
technologies. About 2.5 million years before writing was developed,
technology began with the earliest hominids who used stone tools, which
they may have used to start fires, hunt, and bury their dead.
 Industrial Age - is a period of history that encompasses the changes in
economic and social organization that began around 1760 in Great Britain
and later in other countries, characterized chiefly by the replacement of
hand tools with power-driven machines such as the power loom and the
steam engine, and by the concentration of industry in large
establishments.
 Electronic Age – Began when electronic equipment came into use.
 The Information Age (also known as the Computer Age, Digital Age, or
New Media Age) - is a period in human history characterized by the shift
from traditional industry that the Industrial Revolution brought through
industrialization, to an economy based on information computerization.
The onset of the Information Age is associated with the Digital Revolution,
just as the Industrial Revolution marked the onset of the Industrial Age.
 Information Revolution - describes current economic, social and
technological trends beyond the Industrial Revolution

G. Application: (10 minutes)


 How can you compare the development of media from the traditional to
new media?
 Group activity:
o Direction: With the same group, the learner will create a
PowerPoint presentation that shows the development of media
from Traditional to New Media.
o Each group will be given 5 minutes to create their Photo show
through PowerPoint presentation.
o Select 1 representative to present their output within 2 minutes.
