Learning Objectives:
By the End of the lesson learners will be able to:
 LO1- Describe the rule of Khulfa e Rashideen after the demise of the Holy Prophet (PBUH)
 LO2- learn about their fall, relating it to the current world.
Resources:
Oxford Understanding History 6, pictures, white board, map
Starter Activity:
Students will skim pages 55-57 of the book and list the main points on the board. 10 Min
Learning Activities:
The students will solve the following questions in pairs. 20 Min
Practice:
1. Q # 3: Why were the first four Khalifas called the ‘rightly guided’?
2. Q # 2: What was the contribution of the Umayyads to their Kingdom in Spain?
Peer Scaffolding:
Working beyond learners will be grouped with working towards learners to answer the questions
in pairs.
Plenary:
The students will peer check each other. 5Min
Assessment Opportunities:
Student Responses, question answers, pair work and class participation.
Home Learning:
Read pages 58 and 59 and Answer QS. 4, 6, 7, 8.

Discussion: A discussion of the points presented in the video will take place. 5 Min
The students will then solve book exercises individually (Fill in the Blanks) to recap the chapter 20 Min
thoroughly.
