I intend to use media language, to follow the codes and conventions of Reality TV poster and E4

posters. In my posters I have used direct address, date and time release, channel name/logo and
mise en scene, which are all codes and conventions of a reality TV poster. I have used vivid colours
and direct address to attract potential audiences who are passing by. In addition, I have included the
date and time of when the programme will be due to be released to generate hype and excitement
for the premier of the show. To follow the rules of E4, I have made sure to include a picture of the E4
logo on the bottom right hand of the poster. I have made sure to isolate the logo, using it's core
colour purple, black and white.

To attract my target audience which is targeted to mainly teens (16-18-year olds), I have used
models who are at that age range which therefore attracts more target audiences as the models
used are in the same peer group. I have also used scheduling as a way to target my audience. My
show is scheduled to air every Friday at 8pm. I have chosen this time as this usually means,
teenagers are out of school/college so they have time to watch the programme, I have also chosen
Friday as during the week teenagers may have extra-curricular activities. The font of my poster is
modern and san serif, I have chosen this because the font is more modern which fits in with
teenagers being associated with youthness. In my poster my models are posed as if they don't have
a clue looking after a baby. This is very stereotypical and I believe will add humour and comedy
which I feel teenagers will be more attracted to. I have used setting to base my posters where
teenagers are most likely to be in, for example a clothing store, a library and a bedroom.

My poster followed the ASA guidelines as I did not include any picture of the misuse of alcohol and
any underage drinking, it does not condone and promote underage and irresponsible drinking which
is number 18 CAP code. My poster follows the CAP 05 code, which is care should be taken when
children are addressed and featured. My poster follows this code as the 'baby' used is a toy doll and
its positioning are only for comedic purposes. Also, in the other 3 posters, the baby doll is shown
being cared for which does not promote any harm on children. Lastly, my poster follows CAP code
21 which is to not advertise any use of tobacco products. MY poster has no pictures or references to
any tobacco products, it also does not promote the use of any tobacco products.

The models in my posters are being represented as members of stereotypical groups of people. For
example, a nerd, a goth and preppy girl. I have used props, costumes and settings to show this
representation. For example, the model who is a nerd is shown wearing glasses, her hair is slicked
back into a pony tail and she is wearing smart clothes. She is also posing in a library, as
stereotypically this is where nerds spend the most time on. She is seen holding a book looking very
interested and optimistic, this shows she knows what she is doing with the baby and is well
educated. For the goth, she is seen wearing all black clothes, black makeup and a dark black
background. Her facial expressions are very emotionless and blunt This again is very stereotypical of
what goths would be wearing and the setting. The model which portrays a preppy girly-girl, is seen
wearing all pink, with her hair and makeup done. The setting used is a clothing store with a big
mirror and shoes all around her. This represents her being obsessed with shopping and appearance,
not really caring for anything else, this shows her character to being very shallow and full of herself.
