BACKGROUND

INTRODUCTION

The proponents choose to build a farm of oyster mushroom because there are
very few farmers who culture this kind of products in Pampanga and aside, there are lots
of resources available in this province. We would like to promote this product because of
its health benefits that provide healthy living and aside, it can be a source of profit to
every individual of this province.

When everything was already settled, we would like to pursue and focus to this
study of us to become possible and feasible.

What is mushroom?

Mushrooms are type of fruiting body of a fungus that are free of chlorophyll and
therefore cannot do process of photosynthesis. They are produce by fungi for the
purpose of reproduction, and releasing of spores into the atmosphere. They got their
energy through biochemical decomposition processes. They usually grow in cool and
moist places, in pastures, meadows, and woodlands they are mostly found.Some of
them are cultivated mainly as sources of foods by humans, but some of them are
poisonous.

Oyster Mushroom

Oyster mushroom is an edible mushroom which was originated from Germany


during the World War I. Its scientific name is “pleurotusostreatus”, commonly known as
oyster shelf. The cap of oyster mushroom are broad and fan or oyster shape. It prefer
temperate and subtropical climate. These fungi grow on dead hardwoods trees.

Health Benefits of Oyster Mushroom

Oyster mushrooms are commonly found in the Chinese foods. Due to its high
amount of nutrients, it is widely popular to them. They are loaded with various amount of
nutrients and vitamins which makes them a healthy diet. Its major nutrients are Vitamin
D, Vitamin B3, Copper, Vitamin B2 and Vitamin B5. It is free from Fat, Cholesterol,
Gluten, low in Calories and Sodium. The Iron found in oyster mushroom is high in
comparison to the meat.

The insufficient amount of insulin in the body results in diabetes. The
calcium is required for the insulin secretion. Vitamin D helps to reduce
inflammation and raise the insulin sensitivity.

2. Immunity system
Vitamin D helps to replicate the healthy cells and protects the autoimmune
conditions such as flu and common cold.

3. Cardiovascular conditions
Vitamin B3 reduces the chances of reoccurring of heart disease or cardiac
arrest in those who have already experienced. Additionally, Vitamin B3 helps to
treat pellagra which is the health condition that occurs from the deficiency of
niacin.

4. Skin problems
Vitamin B3 which is in the form of niacinamide helps to clear acne when it
is applied topically in the skin. Niacin assists in the reduction of flare ups, skin
inflammation, redness and irritation

5. Brain health
The copper has an impact on the brain pathways which helps to maintain
the energy, mood, focus and outlook.

6. Cures anemia
Vitamin B2 helps to prevent the anemia. It assists in transporting the
oxygen in the body and also mobilizes iron.

7. Provides energy
Vitamin B5 assist to rebuild muscles, tissues and organs. It helps to
maintain the optimum level of metabolism.

Vitamin D, phosphorus and calcium helps to form and maintain the dental
health by assisting the jaw-bone mineral density, holding the teeth and tooth
enamel.

Neurotransmitter functions depend on the adequate amount of iron to

Vitamin B1 assists to reduce the chances of brain disorder due to the low
thiamine and poor diet usually get in recent taking of alcoholic drinks.

Company Background

Our company is aiming to be the leading supplier of mushroom in terms of quality and
affordability, making the Pampanga as the mushroom capital of the Philippines by
boosting production of mushroom and turning every agricultural and industrial waste into
business opportunities, employment for our countrymen, and providing healthy food for
every Filipino people.

We would like to establish this farm in Sta. Ana area wherein most of materials and
resources are highly available. First, we will be focusing on culturing oyster mushroom
which is the most common mushroom that appropriate to our country’s climatic
conditions. Then we will conduct seminars and provide materials to the interested
individuals of that community to help them start culturing mushrooms.

Our company also wants to culture other kinds of mushrooms, aside from oyster
mushroom, and make finish products among them, and to help not only that community
but to make the whole country to become alarge supplier of increasing demand of
mushrooms.

DCJ’s Farm – DCJ stands for the initials of the proponents and the oyster mushroom
which is our product.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
We are going to sell our product, which is oyster mushroom that segregated into three
categories:

FIRST CATEGORY: The mushrooms included in this category are properly weighted
and their colour is also good. Mostly the oyster mushrooms with light brown colour are
included in this category and the size is 5-7 inches.

SECOND CATEGORY: The mushrooms included in this category are smaller in size
than the first category mushrooms.

THIRD CATEGORY: The mushrooms included in this category are smallest mushrooms
that attained their maturity level.

secrets to achieve success. This is very essential to the sustainability and profitability of
the business.

Organization is a social entity that is goal directed and deliberately


structured.Management is the process of reaching organizational goals by working with
and though people and other organizational resources. It is also the process of planning,
organizing, leading and controlling the use of resources to accomplish performance
goals.

This chapter includes the type of business organization, organizational structure,


management policies, systems, and procedures, standard operating procedures, and
management style.

The proponents choose General Partnership because in this standard form of


partnership, for to be equally responsible for the business’s debts and liabilities. All of us
will be involved in the management, wherein each of us has equal rights to control and
manage the business. Therefore, unanimous consent of each of us is required for all
major actions undertaken. Be advised, though, that any obligation made by one of us is
legally bind on all partners, whether or not they have been informed.

Our business will use line and staff organization, wherein line hierarchy will be
responsible for all management functions such as Planning, Organizing, Leading and
Controlling. While the staff hierarchy, is responsible in implementing the objectives and
goals in support to organization.

production area including the daily inventory turnover, production and inventories
of raw materials weekly.

 Oversee the distribution of the business.


 Manages and monitor the distribution and schedule of delivery of products.
 Supervise and guide the Distribution Staffs on their assigned task.

business and all pertinent information concerning the distribution area and
distribution process weekly.

At the start of the business, since the proponents choose to be in General


Partnership, all of us will choose who will be hire as pioneer employees of the
business.

Interested applicants must submit a comprehensive bio-data or resume with at


least two (2) character references and NBI or Police clearance.

Screening for qualified applicants: look for qualified applicants that will depend on
the position requirements either hiring experienced people and fresh graduates.

Interview: all applicants passed the screening will proceed to interview which
determine the behavioral dimension and experiences on the previous jobs, etc.

Hiring: when we already choose the right person for a certain

 Employees should always wear the prescribed uniform.

Under this theory, the management assumes that employees are happy to work,

are motivated to fulfill the task assigned to them. Given the proper conditions, Theory Y

exercise self-control and self-direction in accomplishing objectives to which they are
committed. Theory Y managers believes that, given the right condition, employees will
want to do well at work. They believe that the satisfaction of doing a good job is a

This chapter will focus on the proponent’s general to specific market feasibility.
This will present the market an analysis of the past, present, future demand and supply
situation of the proponent’s products. If the conditions are found feasible then a check of
marketing practices of similar businesses is studied as a guide for the proponent’s
marketing strategies. This includes the target market description, sample survey form
and consumer survey summary, competitive review, environmental analysis ( general
environment and SWOT analysis), marketing positioning and lastly the marketing mix
strategies.The last topic presents the proponent’s sales projections.

City of San Fernando, Pampanga is a city with a large population and one of the
centers of trade and industry of several business establishments because of its
attractiveness in terms of purchasing power and potential buyers.

This city keeps on improving and progressing evidence by many business

It is the main capital of province of Pampanga that proves that it is globally and

The proponents establish the business not just for gaining


a profit but also gives consideration and benefits for the
community. The socio-economic study aims to give and
provides benefits to the public in various aspects.

This project serves an instrument to encourage the public


to engage in this kind of industry. The business of the
proponents offers a food which is good for the health.

THE GOVERNMENT

In financing its socio-cultural projects and programs which


are vital for growth and progress of the public and the nation as

community.
