How Sports Improves Quality of Life

Sports is important in maintaining one’s health. In other words, sports is vital to maintain
one's health physically, mentally, and emotionally because it improves the quality of life as a
whole. First, sport maintains your health by giving your body the exercise it needs.
Exercising lowers the risk of heart disease by strengthening the heart muscle. “Aerobic
exercise and resistance training are the most important for heart health,” says Johns
Hopkins exercise physiologist Kerry J. Stewart, (ND) .It reduces blood pressure and improves
the blood circulation of the heart. Physical activity is related to hormone regulation and
strength of the immune system. It strengthens the bones, improves balance and eating
habits. Mostly, it aids in weight loss. In fact, children who play sports are less likely to
experience childhood obesity.

Second, sports helps us strengthen our minds. To explain, it sharpens our memory and
concentration. It boosts mental health and alleviates anxiety by producing endorphins.
Endorphins are chemicals produced in the brain that help to relieve pain, stress, and boost
happiness. Sports is the key to keeping your mental skills as sharp as you age. This includes
critical thinking, learning, and using good judgement. Sports also improves quality of sleep
after being exhausted due to sports.

Finally, sports helps us be more intact with our emotions. A case in point, it prevents
dementia and depression. It allows us to practice camaraderie, resilience, and
sportsmanship. According to Charleen Canilao (2019), the former Captain of University of
Asia and Pacfic Women’s Futsal Varsity, she formed a deep connection with her teammates
that are now her lifelong friends even outside sports. In conclusion, sports is very beneficial
to one's health since it affects you in so many different ways through your body, mind, and
emotions.

How Family Involvement Makes a Difference in a Student’s Life

Family involvement can influence the academic success of a student. Rasinki and Fredrick's
(1988) concluded that parents play a valuable role in laying the foundation for their
children's learning. A student’s environment is a major factor on how they respond to
academics. First, Family involvement can pave the way to reach every student’s academic
success. To illustrate, when parents check up on their children this practices them to
develop discipline and obedience in studying. Studies have also proved that parental
involvement is associated with student outcomes such as lower dropout and truancy rates.

Second, children with involved parents are more likely to gain skills needed to be
academically active. For example, skills that can be formed are the ability to manage time
wisely which is significant to balance academics with other important matters.  They
improve their cognitive skills. Cognitive skills are the key to persistent learning because it
helps retain, analyze, and solve problems or information. They will practice independence
from parents in the future. Students will be independent enough to handle what life throws
at them. They will be more prepared for the problems they will face in real world situations.
They will learn to be accountable for their mistakes and progress by assessing themselves in
this period of growth.

Finally, family involvement has a positive influence on a student’s attitude and behavior.
This means it can encourage the child to have better self-esteem, conduct in classrooms,
and increase motivation in studies. Cotton and Wikelund (2005) ably capped it by asserting
that the more intensively parents are involved in their children's learning; the more
beneficial the effects in achievement. Parental involvement is known to provide an
emotional support system for their children. In conclusion, this means you are part of the
high and lows of your child’s academic journey. Parents act as a compass to guide their child
to the path of success.

How to learn a language without a Teacher

Language can be learnt without a teacher. Language is the method of human
communication, either spoken or written that can be learned in many different ways.  First,
a language can be learned through listening. For example, listening to music, radios, movies,
dialogues or podcasts allow us to learn a language. Babies undergo a phase psychologists
call a “Silent Period”. As the name signifies, this is the time before babies learn to talk and
produce the words in their language. Even though they are not talking, babies are listening,
observing, integrating and adapting. They listen so closely that, in the future, they will soon
be able to replicate the linguistic features of the words people say around them.

Second , language can be learned through talking. To be specific, since we were infants, we
were able to learn our first words when our parents would communicate with us. According
to Lawrence Wylie (1985) all methods of language learning have primarily entailed
communication. This is the passing of ideas, knowledge, and information back and forth.
You have the capacity to get real life experience by speaking with others. Not only does this
help you with your verbal communication skills but it also helps us articulate our feelings
and expressions. Recording yourself talking can help you spot your mistakes and pick up on
what you need to improve on whether it be pronunciation, diction, or grammar.

Lastly, language can be learned through looking at texts or words. Although reading is
insufficient to fluently speak a language, it only enhances our knowledge of  written words.
For example, reading books, magazines, and texts widens our vocabulary. It improves our
grammar. We learn the correct use of tenses, punctuation, and parts of speech. It makes us
better writers. What we read influences our style or way of writing. In conclusion, as long as
you practice speaking, writing, reading, and listening, you will be able to proficiently speak
any language with absolutely no help from a teacher. According to linguist Steve Kaufmann
(2019), You don’t need to know about linguistics. All you need to do is to be motivated to
learn the language and ingest. Read, listen, then start speaking using the language and don’t
worry about how you sound and don’t worry about all this other stuff.

How a Tertiary Qualification Does not Define Success

A tertiary qualification is not a necessity.  In other words, a tertiary qualification does not
define your success in life. First, a tertiary qualification does not ensure you a job, let alone a
high paying one. According to psychologist Raychelle Cassada Lohmann (ND), there are
many successful people that have made a difference in our world. For example, Steve Jobs -
founder of Apple - dropped out of Reed College after one semester. Jobs legacy has forever
left a significant mark on the technological and business industry. Another, Ellen DeGeneres
- dropped out of the University of New Orleans after one semester. Ellen worked hard to
make her way to the top as a comedian, television host, actress, writer, producer, and LGBT
activist. In fact, Degrees don’t guarantee a secured future.

Third, a tertiary qualification costs a lot. A lot of people cannot afford college. College tuition
fees are becoming more expensive each year. You must effectively mortgage your life to pay
the price of a certificate. It can even take several years for a student to pay it back or worse
it leads to student loan debt. At the end of the day, education is crucial but college is not. In
fact, information itself is inexpensive and easily accessible instead of spending hundreds of
thousands of cash on a degree.

Finally, college is not for everyone. A lot of people forgo college simply because they don’t
know what to do in life or they don’t believe they need a college degree to do what they
want in life. Just because a person does not have a degree does not mean they can’t chase
their dreams. Author and psychologist Dr. Angela Lee Duckworth says grit can determine
success. In her popular TED talk, she explained: "Grit is passion and perseverance for very
long-term goals." Grit isn't learned from textbooks and taking tests. It's learned from being
out there in the world and struggling through challenges and figuring out how to make
things work. You can still pursue your passions and find your own meaning of success
outside of college. In conclusion, college is an option not a necessity.

How Jogging is Dangerous Without Proper Precaution

Jogging can sometimes be hazardous. Moreover, Jogging can be hazardous when you are in
the wrong place, time, or even lack of preparation.  First, you must be mindful of the
location of your exercise. To illustrate you must choose a tract that is far from cliffs, steep
grounds, or places where you can easily get lost like forests or fields. Common injuries from
tripping or falling due to dangerous terrain are cuts, abrasions, or fractures. Avoid busy
roads that can lead to car accidents or inhaling fumes that may cause respiratory problems.

Second, it is best to jog early in the morning or when the weather is safe.  Jogging in the
afternoon can harm the skin through sunburn by the harmful UV rays of the sun when it’s
too sunny. There are more chances of having accidents during the night when it’s harder to
see the tract or direction of the path. Make sure that drivers can see you if you’re running at
night. For example, you could wear reflective sports attire that help drivers or bikers see you
. If it’s raining there is a high chance of catching a cold or getting injured because roads are
accident prone or you can fall into deep puddles.

Finally, lack of preparation can also lead to danger.  Dr. Carlos Uquillas (2019), an
orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in injury prevention at the Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe
Institute said to take these precautions when running, you must wear the proper jogging
attire and shoes. The wrong type of shoe can increase the risk of various injuries, including
blisters and shin pain. Make sure you are well rested, hydrated, and free from injuries
before going for a jog. Bring water with you and hydrate always to compensate all the water
your body is sweating out. Lead scientist Dr Peter Schnohr (n.d.), from Frederiksberg
Hospital in Copenhagen, Denmark, said: when performed for decades, this activity level
could pose health risks, especially to the cardiovascular system. The wrong kind of form can
lead to long lasting and fatal damages to the body. As a result, it may put unwanted
pressure on blood vessels, or put misplaced weight onto joints. In conclusion, there are a lot
of ways jogging could be dangerous so you must always be prepared and ready in case of
emergencies.
