Q1. What is the meaning of word Allah and what is its significance?

Allah means One true God that is worthy of all submission and devotion. Jews and Christians
among the Arabs also refer to Gad as ‘ Allah’ , The word Allah means the only deity worthy of
worship. It significance is that the word has no plural or gender. This word is unique.

Q2. How does Allah describe Himself in the Quran?

Allah describes Himself in Surah al-Ikhlas . In which Allah Says “ Say O Muhammad : HE IS
ALLAH , WHO IS ONE. ALLAH , THE SELF-SUFFICIENT ETERNAL REFUGE, HE
BEGETS NOT, NOR HE IS BEGOTTEN. AND THERE IS NONE EQUAL TO HIM.

At other place Allah says that there is nothing like him.

Q3. Mention some of the beautiful names of Allah.

Some of the beautiful names of Allah are:

1. Al-Ahad
2. Ar- Rabb
3. Al- Hannan
4. Al- Mannan
5. Al- Sattar
6. Al-Muhsin
7. Al- Mun ‘im

Q4.Write a short Surah which sums up the nature of Allah.

Nature of Allah can be summed up to Surah SHURA :11 where it is mentioned that :[ Nothing is
like unto Him…]

Q5. Write a brief summary of Ibn- Al Qayyim’s description of Allah.

Ibn-Al Qayyim Said, “ Allah is controlling the affairs of all kingdoms. He commands and
prohibits, creates and gives provision, gives death and gives life. He raises and lowers peoples
status alternates the night and day , and gives good and bad days to men by turns, and causes
nations to rise and fall.”

Q1. Why should we know where Allah is?

We should know where Allah is because he is our creator and Sustainer . Hence we should have
proper knowledge of Allah and know where He is

Q2.Write a brief note about the knowledge of Allah.

We obey His orders pray to Him ask His assistance ask his forgiveness and remember Him
always. So we should have proper knowledge of Allah.

Q5. From where does Allah come Down?

Allah is , the Exalted is above his Throne, which is above the heavens, but that His knowledge
encompasses everything. Allah is near to us in His knowledge but not in His dhat or essence.
Hence Allah’s Kowledge comes down and it is believed He comes down from seven heavens.
Allah’s ilm comes down.

1. Should we believe that Allah is similar to His Creation? Mention the relevant ayah.

A Muslim must believe that no one shares names and attributed with Him. And he should neither
deny them nor compare them to the qualities of any of his creations, because such comparison is
not possible. Surah Al-Qasas 28:88 is the evidence where Allah says ‘There is no deity except
Him. Everything will be destroyed except except Him. His is the judgment and to Him you will
be returned.

2. How should we believe in Allah and his Attributes?

We should have a very firm belief that Allah is one and only and none in this world is like his .
we should not share Allah’s names and attribute with him. We should not deny or compare His
qualities with his creations . We must believe in all the names of Allah with any doubt or
suspicion.

What does a Muslim believe about the self or Dhat of Allah?

Muslims believe about the dhat of Allah is that he is one and only and what so ever happens in
this universe only happens with a will of Allah and He can not be compared with any of his
creations . No. will be able to see the dhat of Allah as even the firm mountain could not bear his
reflection.

3. Mentiom the occasions when two prophets conversed with Allah.

The two prophets conversed with Allah are Prophet Moses and Prophet Mohammed (P BUH) the
first one requested to see Allah on Mount Tur the scond one was at the occasion of Miraj.

4. What is the Meaning of ziyadah (extra) in Paradise?

Those who will enter the paradise will get extra favor from allah as allah will show them his dhat
that is ziyadah which they will get. This is the extra reward which they will get in jannah.

1.Does Allah’s knowledge encompasses everything? Mention some examples From the Qur’anic
verses.

Allah knows everything in detail , which means He knows both what is seen and what is unseen ,
so nothing is unknown to him , the knowledge of Allah is comprehensive and all encompassing.

The verse no. 6:59of surah Al-An’am has example of the above description.

2. Do you think Allah knows all things? What are the proofs?

Allah says in surah 11 verse 6 “ AND THERE IS NO CREATURE ON THE EARTH BUT
THAT UPON ALLAH IS ITS PROVISION, AND HE KNOWS ITS PLACE OF DWELLING
AND PLACE OF STORAGE. ALL IS IN A CLEAR REGISTER.

ALLAH SAYS IN SURAH SABA 34:2 “HE KNOWS WHAT PENETRATES INTO THE
EARTH AND WHAT EMERGES FROM IT AND WHAT DESCENDS FROM THE HEAVEN
AND WHAT ASCENDS THEREIN. AND HE IS THE MERCIFUL, THE FORGIVING.

ALLAH SAYS IN SURAH 3 VERSE 29 AL IMRAN “ WHETHER YOU HIDE WHAT IS IN


YOUR BREAST OR REVEAL IT , ALLAH KNOWS IT “.

HENCE ALLAH LNOWS EVERYTHING.ABOVE VERSES OF QURAAN ARE A PROOF


OF IT.
