V. SYSTEM DESCRIPTIONS :-
A. Fire protection system for the Proposed Club house in the villa
compound shall include sprinklers as per NFPA 13, Fire Hose
Reels and Wet Standpipe system in accordance with NFPA 14 and
Portable fire extinguishers as per NFPA 10. Fire extinguisher shall
be provided for all areas as required whereas fire blankets shall
be applicable for kitchen.
B. The Firefighting system for the Proposed Clubhouse shall be of
wet type automatic sprinkler system and Fire hose reel System.
The Fire Fighting system shall be served by one wet riser system.
A 2 way breeching inlet shall be provided for building, external to
wall at a suitable position for fire brigade. Wet pipe sprinkler
systems shall employ automatic sprinklers attached to a piping
system containing water and connected to the fire water supply.
The pipeline in the system shall be fully pressurized, so that
water discharges immediately from sprinklers opened by a fire.
C. The system shall be designed that only those sprinklers that
have been activated by heat will discharge water.
D. Wet system shall consists of feed main, cross main, branch
piping, supervised gate valves, alarm check valve, drain pipes,
quick response upright and pendant sprinklers, breeching inlet,
gauges, fire hose connection and fire hose reels and landing
valves. Alarm Check Valve activation shall initiate an alarm
action.
E. Fire water source shall be taken from two (2) underground fire
water tank located underground. The tanks total water reserve
volume shall be designed to accommodate 60 minutes of system
operation. The tanks shall consist of fill valves, float valves,
equalizing pipe , vent, access manholes, and access ladder.
Mobile tanker filling connection with isolating valve, end cap,
chain etc. shall be provided near the Fire Tank area.
F. To provide the required water pressure to the system, fire pumps
shall be provided and to be located in the designated

= 30,000 Gallons
= 113.56 m3
Say =114 m³
4) Total Number of Fire Tank considered = 2
5) Therefore, Required Mean Effective Capacity Each Tank =
114 m³ ÷ 2 = 57 m³
6) So, Designed Fire Water Tank Capacity :-
Fire Water Tank-1 (Underground)
= 4.8m (L) x 5.5m (W) x 2.9m (H)
= 76.56 m³
Fire Water Tank-2 (Underground)
= 4.8m (L) x 5.5m (W) x 2.9m (H)
= 76.56 m³
7) Therefore Total volume of the Designed Fire Water Tank
= 153.12 m³
As per NFPA 20, Fuel supply tank shall have a capacity at least
equal to 1 gallon per HP (5.07L per KW), plus 5 percent volume for
expansion and 5 percent volume for sump.
Fire Pump Capacity = 40 KW
Fuel supply tank capacity = 40 x 5.07L = 203 Litres
+ 5 percent volume for expansion = 0.05 x 203 L = 10.15 Litres
