Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a viral respiratory illness that came from Wuhan China, that can cause symptoms of fever, cough,
muscle aches, headache, and diarrhea. Some patients with COVID-19 develop pneumonia and may need to be hospitalized. COVID-19
appears to be spread via respiratory secretions when infected people cough or sneeze, similar to how influenza (flu) spreads
(Thomson,2020). This virus has already spread throughout the world or we called pandemic. Philippines is one of the countries who had
already this kind of virus, until now. President Duterte had a speech about the COVID-19 last March 12, 2020. President Duterte states in
his speech that this virus has no cure, but hopefully doctors will discover cure for this virus. He also states that don’t panic. Protecting
ourselves from this virus is one of the most effective prevention we can do this time like strengthen our immune system, eat healthy food,
take vitamins but most of all, try to obey what the government suggests, said by the president. He also states that antibodies could protect
ourselves from the virus which might be true because I learned from Microbiology that the one of the function of antibodies was
capable of blocking the infectivity or pathogenesis of viruses, bacteria, parasites, and fungi. I strongly agree when President Duterte that
don’t belittle this virus, because day by day the positive cases of the virus increase. He also states that we have to give credence to what
Secretary Duque says, because it’s important to follow to rules. President Duterte says that the first resolution was that a province
quarantine advice when there are at least two positive cases belonging to different municipalities etc. Which I agree, we shouldn’t be relax
although the case is just one nor two because this virus spreads really fast. He also talks about the social distancing which is important
because if someone who had this virus and sneezes near you, you might have the o have this virus also. He also talks about the class
suspension, he said that there will be officers/soldiers that will roam around and when they saw some students who are to club send them
home. President is just concern for us, so better stay at home and take the time for us students to study. He also talks about those students
who will insist on the rules will be punished. Those people who have plan to have their rally will also be punished if they insist or make
violence. “But ako sa inyo, if you are advised, just obey”said by the President. If I we’re the president I’ll do the same on how he delivers the
message, on how he shows he’s concern to his people, his countrymen. Cooperation is needed on this kind of situation, abide rules and
follow what the government tells us because that’s the most important thing to do right now. We also need to protect ourselves by eating
healthy foods, strengthen our body etc. We all know that prevention is better than cure.
