1 Geotechnical Data
The following soil conditions are taken from a recent study of Japan International Cooperation
Agency (JICA). Two boreholes with depth of 15 meters provided the test samples.
The succeeding tables present the idealized subsurface condition based on the results of the
geotechnical investigation at Quezon City.

1.1.2 Tabulated Site Soil Conditions for Silty Sand (SM)
In order to check the stability of the structure, the designers gather the site soil condition values
and other necessary data for the computation of the horizontal and vertical forces that will act on
the pipe.
