Introduction/ Warm Up
 Students will run 3 laps around the gym the
second they arrive as a quick warm-up.
 After running, students will play British Bulldog.
Quickly go over how the game is played with
students.
 Ask students to sit in their table groups on the
10 mins
lines to listen to next instructions.
 Explain to students that we will be continuing the
badminton unit.
 Have students each get a racquet and get into
their partners.
 Ensure students can see you demonstrating the
new shot.

 Students will be practicing the underhand
serve.
 Show students a demonstration of the
underhand serve.
 Explain how the opposite foot from the serving
hand steps forward to maintain balance.
 Explain to students that they need to hand-eye
coordination.
 Have students stand away from the net and
practice the shot on their own without a birdy.
 Students will then pick a spot along the nets.
 Have students in their partners practice the
underhand serve. Students will underhand
serve the birdy over the net and their partner
will hit it back. After a while of rallying, or
whenever the birdy falls, students will switch,
and the other partner will serve.
 Signal when it is time to move on.

playing with a team for badminton, you

partners and will go with their group to the
