2. Content Numbers and Number Sense

3. Learning Resources Mathematics 7, Learner's Module (Lesson 2.2 Complement of a Set) pp. 9-12

4. Procedures
4.1 Introductory Activity
Checking of the assignment should be done first then recall to the students the definition and use of Venn Diagrams in
20 minutes representing sets. Let the stuents answer the problem on page 9 of Math 7, Learner's Module.

4.2 Activity
Discuss the definition of the Complement of sets together with its related examples.
20 minutes
4.3 Analysis Let the students work in a group of five and find the elements of the indicated sets, they will answer Activity III
20 minutes Mathematics 7, Learner's Module (Lesson 2.2 Complement of a Set) p. 10
4.4 Abstraction The teacher will guide the students as they evaluate their answers on Activity III, in this manner the learners will be
guided about finding the relationships among the members of each group. Ask how they feel in finding the complement
20 minutes of a given set.
4.5 Application Activity III is still initiated on this moment and tell the students to use Venn Diagrams to find the elements of the
15 minutes indicated sets.
4.6 Assessment
Use Exercise IV. A and B on Learner's Module (Lesson 2.2 Complement of a Set) pp.
Tests
15 minutes 11-12

4.7 Assignment Enhancing / improving the day’s

Answer Exercise IV. C on Learner's Module (Lesson 2.2 Complement of a Set) p. 12
5 minutes lesson
4.8 Concluding Activity In this lesson, you learned about the complement of a given set and work together to accomplish a given task. I hope
that you appreciate our activities of finding the complement because our lives are like sets, we have elements of our
5 minutes own, however, we need to find and know our complement so that we will become aware of the things that we should
find in order to become a whole.

4. Procedures
4.1 Introductory Activity
10 minutes Ask the students to recall the definitions of the different terminologies related to sets.
4.2 Activity Give students time to solve the problem on Activity 1 (Math 7, Learner's Module) p. 13. Guide the students in their pace
30 minutes of finding the answer on this activity.
4.3 Analysis Solicit student's answer and expect to receive varied ones. Tell them to compare, differentiate and analyze their chosen
20 minutes answers.
4.4 Abstraction Provide two word problems which will serve as examples for the students to have an idea about how to apply the
20 minutes concepts learned about sets. Use Post-Activity Discussion page 13-16 from the said learners material.
4.5 Application Tell the students to work with a partner and do Exercise III numbers 1-5 p. 16 found on their module. Tell them to
15 minutes represent the sets and draw a Venn Diagram.

4.8 Concluding Activity
In this lesson, you were able to apply what you learned about sets, the venn diagrams and set operations through the
5 minutes given word problems. Some of you found the answer, some were not what's important is that you tried and persevere.
