    The Karad Caves are a group of 66 Buddhist caves located 5 kilometers southwest of Karad, India near the village of Jakhinwadi. The caves are carved into Agashiv Hill and scattered around Jakhinwadi, overlooking the Koyna River. The caves facing south are the most important and there are additional caves located in the valley. The caves were used as a monastic dwelling for Buddhists during the rainy season in the first century BC.
