Advice for Collegiate and High School Conferences.

Make sure the collegiate conference is in January, February, or March, after the High School
Conference in January has taken place in Logan at Utah State. Make sure that the High School
conference doesn’t compete on the same day with BYU, Weber State, the University of
University, or UVU. This will help attendance. The conference should take place on a Saturday
of your choice in January. The conference should take place in the Huntsman Building which
must be reserved in the Fall.

All students who plan on attending the collegiate conference must participate in the High School
Conference in Logan.

Choose at least 3 locations for the club to vote on. In keeping with the democratic spirit of Model
UN, the location most voted on will be the conference chosen for that year. You may propose
more than 3 locations if desired.

Feel free to do your own research for conferences. Make sure they are in January, February or
March, the conference must take place AFTER THE HIGH SCHOOL CONFERENCE IN
LOGAN AT UTAH STATE. Students must participate in the high school conference to
participate in the collegiate conference. Here is a list of possible MUN conferences with dates
that may change annually, feel free to choose your own location. Please verify and contact the
university of choice and make sure the conference is collegiate, and not a High School school
conferences when registering. Conferences in February are optimal, make sure the conference
is during the Spring Semester. Also be aware that conferences can usually range from 2 to 5
days in length, check the dates to make sure the length is of your preference and in the Spring.:

Must be held on a Saturday in January/February- As long as its after the high school conference

High Schools love Joint Crisis Committees (Crisis committes where two committtees work live
on the clock against each other). These committees require two chairs (one for each room), and
a crisis update committee that can monitor both rooms and keep delegates and the chairs
updated.
