Academic Growth Essay

I have grown a huge amount from the time I have spent at ASGL. Before I attended
school in Los Angeles,I began my academic career in Vaughn Middle School (MIT) I wasn’t
failing any subjects during middle school due to the teachers explaining the concepts easier and
less complicated.I was more difficult when learning mathematics because math is a least
interesting subject that i wasn’t proficient in.It took more time out of my day to complete a math
assignment instead of an english assignment. I was confined to the grades during middle school
because i wasn’t proficent in math or english.I was afraid of making new attempts to learn the
material as i felt insecure about looking dumb while doing the work.I established a negative
mindset when learning new material because of my own self insecurties to further establish a
healthy learning experiences..I also believe i began my curiosity for learning as a student in
Vaughn because the school provided a vast resource of Library material while also providing
tutoring for students who struggled in making new habits. I was bullied due to my curiosity
seeping through the classroom as i would answer every question i had when i was in class and
wasn”t accepted into peer groups for it.So i spent a large amount of my days drawing new ideas
alone and reading new books to further enhance my work in english not as much in math.

The first time I attended ASGL,I wanted to make new plans by the time I entered my
freshman year of high school.I was different by not being as organized and task oriented as I was
until senior year. ASGL provided cognitive thinking by explaining how the rules and regulations
will benefit the classroom but also the work environment can be more productive if every student
understand the task and the process to make the class more informative and clarifying.I wasn’t
attentive to the process to make my grades more meaningful than taking naive decisions when i
began my first year in ASGL.I maintained my own academic purpose through the need to pass
classes by applying work and knowledge so i can pass test.My study habits increased as the time
i spent in ASGL because the tutoring teachers gave during afterschool was a fortress of solitude
so i can understand concepts easier without feeling lost in having classes with my peers. ASGL
also helped me polish social interactions skills while also building a foundation of leadership
skills as well.I began to see my grades increase the more time i had in the library reviewing
subjects i had trouble in while also being mindful. The school environment had a influence in
problem solving tactics by advocating for myself to make sure im passing all my classes and ask
question on unknown topics i couldn’t do before i came to ASGL. Meo Cantiller inspired my
academic teachings because she was more curious about learning new topics using formats and
methods she used during her class to produce more work for less. Meo made me more confident
in being curious and in constant search for new material which I didn't see in myself at all.
