Briefly describe your family's economic background. Include information about your financial challenges. *

My single mother is the only one that provides financial assistance to the whole family. My mother has no job due to
citizenship status.She moved to the United States during the 90s,she had my three sisters and made sure they all
attended high school.She did various things as an adult ensuring my family would have opportunities for our future.A
brighter future. Without my father present in my life,my mother used the resources available such as The federal
government program ​SNAP and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. They are the only programs that
provides assistance to my family. My sister works as a cashier in Panda Express. She makes a stable income with the
effort she provides. My mother does not work,but provides by cleaning at home and maintaining and doing chores at
home.She makes a huge sacrifice every day by staying at home everyday and helping us with our health and well being
for all of our family members.My sister makes the financial decisions when paying rent when facing financial struggles,
until we have an increase of income.

Why would you like to attend college? Discuss your career and personal goals. Are there any particular
circumstances, school experiences, or persons that influenced your preparation or motivation to attend college

I want to attend college to have a career as a musical artist in the genre of rap and hip hop. I also express a huge
regard as having a career in being a fashion designer. Another career I am interested in, is a physician in the
near future. The goal I have to reach before the end of the school year is to graduate high school, to increase my
chances of having a dream job rather than following the social norm of an office job. The personal goals I want
to achieve sparked a conversation about my future when having the opportunity to experience college trips into
different colleges such as CSULA CSU Northridge and Dominguez Hills. A person who motivated me towards
working on attending college is peer named Meo Cantiller who had begun this college experience and mentored
me on various subjects regarding college. His effort towards preparing me more made me confident to take the
next step to reach my personal and career goals. His support with college applications and other documents are
also important in the process of attending college. My cultural background played a huge role in my life with my
family providing advice, multi-tasking and self confidence based upon the process of applying for college.

tutoring? Do your grades in high school and/or college reflect your academic ability or potential? * 0/2500

In high school, I began to utilize various additional support such as programs like ̈Fulfillment Fund ̈ and
Gear Up to my advantage; to ask questions and have information about college.These programs helped me
begin to expose myself to deadlines requirements and to revise my resume.The grades given in high school
and college don’t reflect upon my academic ability because the academic ability is self imposed with the
student having the ability to make a change to understand the material in order to pass the class. The
Academic system has been applied to make students pass the material but donẗ praise the mastery of the
subject.​ ​virtually all high school students have high aspirations for the future, including some type of
postsecondary education. But classroom observations and reviews of instructional materials show that most
lessons lack the rigor students need for their next steps in education and careers. Students of color commonly
were found to have lower standardized test scores than other students with the same grades.The grades donẗ
affect the overall ability of the student to pass but rather the student must hold themselves accountable to
ensure the production of the students understanding is more valuable to the student rather than passing.

List any volunteer work, extracurricular activities, or work experience in which you are or have been involved in

Volunteer work I had participated include ̈World Harvest ̈ Food Bank within (2017-2019) which involved management
and providing food for low income citizens within the time span of 5 hours each day over the course of two years.The
Important opportunity i also participated in is The Annual Blood Drive which in school has the production in donating
blood to this important cause.The ability to make contributions to an organization bigger than society is a huge sense of
pride.The Extracurricular activities I have participated in ̈Los Angeles Parks Summer Basketball League” (2017-2018)
where I dedicated time to basketball and different perspectives on teamwork and contributions towards self improvement.
I also participated in foreign languages (2017-2018).The Foreign language club i have participated in include The Filipino
Club and Mandarin Club.Both Clubs provided by the school helped provide more insight towards different cultures and
perspectives amongst fellow peers and students as well.The benefit towards these clubs also had an impact on the world
around me as I can convey and express and communicate my ideas thoroughly with other perspectives

Most of the academic work I provided with has been complied with work i hadnẗ completed and failed multiplied
times.As I reflect on the previous work from my academic career,I realized such as the academic success is
given to us.We must also apply ourselves into making sure we can express and explain our ideas more
concise.Previously,i wasn’t capable of interacting and collaborating with other students until I met peers and
fellow teachers who took the time and improved with growth when it becomes to a student making sacrifices to
make his dream come into reality and creating a new reality into myself. The most important contribution I had
made when coming into this school is eliminating self doubt and the determination of self perseverance.I am
proud of the growth I have seen for myself is so important.
