- The importance of geotechnical Engineer is they do geotechnical analysis and they construct
deep foundations that can increase or double the expected life of the structure. That’s why
these concepts are important in construction field. Starting with geotechnical analysis, or you
may say as an analysis on earth structure including sand, rock, and mud compositions as well as
the mechanics is very essential especially in today’s situation in which we are moving towards
building complex formations both underwater and in air that is high for us. These structures can
only remain steady and firm if they have enough support underneath the earth’s composition.
Currently, the construction industry is at peak. Nowadays, engineers and architects are
constructing structures in the air and water, but the question is, is it safe? The answer is very
simple. They use the basic principles of physics, rock mechanics, soil sciences, etc.
- geotechnical engineer then manages and designs the type of earthworks, foundations, and road
subgrades needed for the expected man-made structures to be produced. Foundations are
designed and created for structures of various sizes such as bridges, buildings, large commercial
buildings, and smaller structures where the soil conditions do not allow code-based design.
