Service Letter No. L273

January 5, 2018

TO: Customers affected by LW-13923 Connecting Rod Bushings listed in Table 2 of Service
Bulletin No. 632.
SUBJECT: Service Bulletin No. 632 Customer Care Program

Background

Service Bulletin No. 632 advised owners that a small, time-bounded lot of connecting rod bushings
reached the field with a small probability of being outside factory specifications. It further recommended
that any owner of an affected engine should have their engine inspected and repaired, if necessary.
Customers who purchased an affected factory new, rebuilt, or overhauled engine from Lycoming are
covered under their Lycoming Limited Factory Warranties and should file a warranty claim.
Customers with affected engines that were overhauled or repaired by someone other than Lycoming
should first check with their field service provider for warranty coverage. Because many service providers
do not provide a comprehensive warranty, Lycoming is pleased to announce a Customer Care Program that
is intended to substantially reduce the financial burden of complying with Service Bulletin No. 632.
Under the Program, owners of Qualifying Engines, as described below, may apply for a credit in the
amount shown in Table A from Lycoming for complying with Service Bulletin No. 632. The credit amounts
in this Program are in addition to, and separate and apart from Lycoming Replacement Parts Limited
Warranty. For any bushing that does not pass this inspection, customers are also covered under the terms of
their Lycoming Replacement Parts Limited Warranty for replacement of the bushing(s).

Coverage

A Qualifying Engine is a Lycoming engine that has been field overhauled or field repaired with genuine
Lycoming connecting rod bushings, part number LW-13923, shipped from Lycoming during the dates
identified in Table 2 from Service Bulletin No. 632. This Program applies only to engines with genuine
Lycoming connecting rod bushings sold by a Lycoming Distributor as spare parts and installed by field
overhaul or repair facilities. This Program expires on September 30, 2018.
