You have just opened the doors of your brand new clinic, starting modestly with a
psychiatry unit, when emergency services personnel come barreling through your shiny
entrance to confront you with a dire situation: a major accident nearby has led to various
injured people, and some severely wounded!

You try to persuade the emergency services spokespeople that your clinic is not able to treat
trauma, but they wave away your objections. They're sending the ambulances with the
most seriously wounded to your clinic... Deal with them!

As the emergency services staff turns to rush out again, you pause for a moment: this
could be a wonderful opportunity to make a name for your clinic and for yourself!
Snapping out of your visions of fame and fortune, you quickly turn to your builders and
staff:

Get Moving!

What You Need

Clinic: Deluxe Edition base game
The Extension module Ambulances
The Extension module ICU
small opaque container

Setup
Setup the Base Game for 1 player following the rules on pages 4 and 5 of the base game
rulebook, except (by step number)
2, 3 Add 2 Orthopedics Service Hubs to the supply; these are Trauma Service Hubs; create
the pile as normal (top one face up, bottom one face down)
6 Use the following three Special Modules, one of each: ICU, Lab, Operating Room
25 Use and shuffle only the following four Bonus Tiles: $5, Nurse, Doctor Upgrade, Parking
Tile; Draw 2 and choose 1
26 After creating the Patient pool, take 2 each
of Yellow, Orange and Red Patients (6 in total) from the supply, and
place these in a separate opaque container or draw bag; these are the
Trauma patients coming in by Ambulance
32 Do not draw for Orthopedics! Instead, after drawing as normal
for the Psychiatry and Cardiology appointments, draw one Trauma
Patient from the opaque container, place it directly on
an Orthopedics (Trauma) pre-admissions slot on your Player Board
Ambulances Do not use the Ambulance board, just 6 Ambulances; Place them on the
bottom most spot under 3 Admin on the Main Board (the turn order change reminder spot)
Now complete your setup by placing the White Doctor on the Entrance, and parking both
the Car and one Ambulance (which rushed over your first Trauma patient to the Trauma pre-
admission slot)
It's important to do Setup in the prescribed order,
especially setting up your Player Area before the first
trauma patient is drawn!
You can choose to play the EXPERT side of the Player
Board, but this becomes even more challenging due to the
need to park six Ambulances during the course of this
challenge!
Do not choose a Solitaire Mode end game goal,
this Challenge replaces those goals

Rules
All Base Game rules apply, except where noted below
All ICU module rules apply, except where noted below
Do not use the Ambulance module rules, see below
Phase 1: Actions - Build The ICU Special
Module can only be built adjacent to a Trauma Service Hub
Phase 1: Actions - New Patients Schedule
Appointments After each Action, do not draw for
Orthopedics (Trauma) appointments! Only draw for
Psychiatry and Cardiology as normal
Phase 3: Admin - Step 11 Draw one Trauma Patient from
the opaque container and place it directly on a Trauma pre
admissions slot on your Player Board; Immediately Park
one Ambulance
If you are not able to Park an Ambulance,
you immediately lose the game!
Place a treated Trauma patient beside your Player Board instead of returning it to the
supply

Clarifications
Trauma patients abide by all other rules, gaining income when treated, and losing you
Popularity when they die or if untreated at game end
