Week 3
I learned a lot from my research this week, I think it was
important to research these aspects as I got a lot better of an
understanding of what I need to do in order to make sure my
production is suitable for my audience in every way.
I believe I answered this exact question in last week’s weekly
blog
The work into my Target audience was very important to help
with the development of my ideas, I think it was important
because it helped to get a better understanding about my
audience themselves. I wanted to know more about them in
order to tailor their preferences to my production in a way that
would make it fit towards them and make it more enjoyable.
The age was a huge part as I was wishing for an audience of
more matured range due to possible distressing themes I have
in my idea (this being the murder) I was glad to see that the
majority of my audience from Instagram are 16/7 and I have a
very little percentage under this age range and the lowest
being 13. The highest is 23, this keep my target audience very
teen/young adult based, which is exactly what I was aiming
for. Due to that small percentage under 16, I am still wishing
to include a viewer discretion at the start as a warning and if
they chose to watch, that is down to them. Learning about
their spending habits was interesting as nearly everyone of
my responses said the same thing being ‘food and clothes’ and
the other responses were ‘events and concerts’ I think this was
important to me because it let me know that people would be
less willing to pay to watch something that I would be creating
and If I want the most amount of people to watch it then it
should be on free viewing sites such as YouTube and IGTV.
It was interesting to see what other platforms there are to
upload short films to, I was introduced to some I wasn’t aware
of before such as MUBI which is a subscription basis platform,
however learning about these if very interesting and is
something I am planning on subscribing to in order to keep
expanding my film knowledge. When regarding how it
improved my ideas for my FMP, I wouldn’t say that due to the
platforms I had to change any of my content, on YouTube
there is a ‘suitable for kids option’ this would be something I
would have to leave unticked if I were to upload my production
there, Instagram on the other hand have no restrictions to
what content you put out as long as its not offensive in
 anyway, I believe this allows me to not need to change my
idea or concept up but to just make sure people are aware that
what I planning on put out there might not be suitable for
everybody to watch.

What work do you need to complete I am on track for this week, I just need to receive and
outside of lessons to stay on track? complete my feedback over Easter.
