Learning Area: Mathematics
- Recall multiplication facts up to 10 × 10 and related
division facts (ACMNA075)
- Develop efficient mental and written strategies and

Number and Algebra: Number and Place Value:
Solve problems involving multiplication of large numbers by one-
or two-digit numbers using efficient mental, written strategies and
appropriate digital technologies (ACMNA100)

Lesson Objectives:

As a result of this lesson, student will be able to:

 Identify, Recognise and Understand what Multiplication and Division are
 Identify arrays in the school environment that show a element of Multiplication and division
 Actively participate in lesson

LESSON DELIVERY
Resources/References
Time Motivation and Introduction:
8:50 Student sitting at secluded table such as in wet area
Activate prior Knowledge (with the use of questioning): So what did we do
last lesson sitting in the wet area? (made figure me out poster etc)
Question: How could you use your fingers and toes to help explain division
facts? A verbal answer will be given

Lesson Steps:

Using the class iPad the student will be asked to walk around the school
and take photos of arrays in the school environment that involves
8:55 multiplication and division. The student will then present these photos on
Explain everything App with an explanation of each.

For example the student may come across a carton of eggs, he could write
things such as there is 2 rows, there are 6 in each row, 2x6=12, therefore
12/6=2.

Lesson Closure:
In the students journal he will explain multiplication/ division using diagrams.
9:15
Transition: Students journal
Student packs away any items they bought with them to the intervention
lesson, and heads back inside to class, to continue on with the usual day.
9:20
Assessment:
Anecdotal notes will be taken throughout intervention lesson.
