1. A.) The procedures that teachers follow in the morning is that they usually have 2-3
teachers guiding students where to go after their bus stops. In the front of the school when I
arrived I noticed there was a security/monitor who was watching over the bicycle location as
well as cars parking and students crossing the street or getting off their cars.
B.) I did have the chance to speak with office manager about what is expected of students
when not in class, for example during lunch time, crossing period time and any other time when
class is not necessarily in session. She was brief and told me during lunch students are allowed to
get their lunch and eat, the typical, or allowed to be around in the quad area. However, not close
to main entrance or in the hallways as it is considered a strike on the students part. Any other
time she told me the students are to respect where they are and follow rules. She as well
mentioned that students must show to have P.R.I.D.E, purpose, respect, integrity, discipline, and
efficient. It helps respect the environment they are in and as well as classmates.
C.) Upon my initial visit I visited the main office first. It was clear to me that the
specialists were the two persons in front, the office manager, dean, and the principle of course.
To me it was the typical person's I would have expected to be in charge. The office manager
along with the two others in front appeared to work hand-in-hand by answering questions back
and forth. They knew where classrooms were located, knew what my name was when I
mentioned to them I was a CSN student. They were just overall prepared and quickly helped
parents coming in. Their office is the first room you see entering the school, within the room is
much bigger and all are grouped together so not much traveling is needed to see the correct
person.

2. A.) Upon entering the main office the parent or guardian can see the rules for picking
up a student early from school. At Jim Bridger Middle School, the steps go as; first you sign into
the computer with your first and last name and provide identification, second you mention the
reason for the excusal, next an aid or monitor will go to the classroom and pick up the student
and then once the student arrives just confirm and you are ready to leave. Of course the student is
required to pick up any work he will miss for the day, or it may be requested at the dean’s office.
B.) For fire drills the directions are posted on the door where they are visible. First the
students are to get in two lines and proceed to exit the room, they are to remain quiet so that
directions can be heard. The teacher is the last person to leave the room to ensure no one is left
behind. Once they are away from the building the two lines group back up and stay together as a
C.) For shelter in place there are drills and in their handbook it states that they are
necessary to prepare faculty, staff and students. It simply states that teachers will follow district-
approved procedures. Which are they will stay in the classroom, and will seal doorways and
D.) Within the classroom there was one supply of first aid. It was hanged up on right
above a cabinet.
E.) One thing I found most interesting reviewing the handbook was the emphasis that
they have on the dress code. Although it first list out the appropriate attire, and it is a long list to
remember. It gives out all the colors allowed and which ones are not. Then there is another
section that mentions all the attire that you are not allowed to wear. Such as no sagging, jewelry,
tattoos, sandals or heels and much more. I feel that this leads the students to feel more restricted
and from what I have observed it seems that students still complain what they are wearing.

3. A.) The extracurricular activity at Jim Bridger is a long list: after school all-stars,
sports intramurals, dancing, basketball, soccer, chess, cheerleading, much more and special
B.) The school as far as I have seen does not seem to have a partnership with the
community, and they don't seem to get many benefits. However, in their handbook they mention
they have a small amount of community partnerships that help with small supplies.
C.) The parents are offered to bring any supplies if they can, so it becomes more of the
idea if you want to help. But before they start bringing supplies in they are told to wait as the
