1. Computer Setup
This procedure assumes PC was either provided or staged
by ImageWorks

Start PC
Launch eBUSPlayer64.exe (located in the Hamamtsu
Program Group).
Click Select/Connect Button

On the "Device Selection" window,
select the "NTx-Mini PT01 -" item
displayed with the no entry symbol.
After making the selection, select the
"Show unreachable Network Devices"
check box, and click the "Set IP
Address..." button.

Under "GigE Vision Device


Configuration", enter 5 for the
location in the "IP Address" item
indicated below, and confirm that
the "IP Address" item is
192.168.16.5. After you confirm
this, click the "OK" button to close
the window.

1. Computer Setup
On the "Device Selection" window,
confirm that the no entry symbol
has been removed from the "NTx-
Mini PT01 -" item that had
displayed it, and then click the
"OK" button to close the window.

Click the "Device control" button.

1. Computer Setup
The Device Control window will be
displayed. For the Visibility item,
select "Beginner". Next, configure
the items under the
"TransportLayerControl" menu as
shown in the following screenshot.
After you configure these settings,
click the "×" button at the top right
to close the window.

Select "Tools" > "Buffer


Options..." to open the Buffer
Options window.

On the Buffer Options window,
enter 128 for the "Buffers used for
streaming", and then click the
"OK“ button.

Select "Tool" again, and select


"Save Preferences" on the
displayed items. After making
the selection, if the
eBUSPlayer window is
displayed, click the "×" button

2. Tube Head Aging

Open the X-ERA
equipment adjustment
tool. enter password
p18p18 and press OK.

Select "Aging" in the X-ERA


Adjustment Tool.

The aging window will be
launched. Click the "Start
aging" button to start aging.

The following window will be


displayed. Press the hand
switch for the equipment to
emit X-rays.

Continue until all 20 shots are exposed. Note X-ray cools


for 60 seconds between shots. Close the Aging window.

Set the chin rest to the highest position, and remove the 3D-
compatible sliding chin rest block.

Launch the X-ERA Adjustment Tool and then click the


"Exposure field adjustment (2D)" button on the tool window to
launch the Exposure field adjustment (2D) window.

Click the "Select" button, select “Standard panoramic
exposure field “from the list, and then click "OK”.

The adjustment window for the item
selected in (2) will be displayed. Check if
the correction values are displayed in the
collimator correction value input items. *
This section explains the procedure
assuming that "Standard panoramic
exposure field" was selected.

On the Exposure field adjustment (2D)


window, click the "Start AJAT Dental
Imaging Software" button to launch
AJAT, and then select Tools >
Maintenance > Mechanical Alignment
to open the Mechanical Alignment
window. (After AJAT Dental Imaging
Software has launched, the Exposure
field adjustment (2D) window will move
to the bottom right of the desktop.)

Click the "Detect" button of the 2D
exposure field adjustment tool
window, and then detect the
collimator values by the procedure
as follows. (* It detects the rough
position of the exposure field.)

Click the "Initial position" button of
the displayed "Detection" window,
and the collimator exposure port will
move to the initial position.

Click the "Exposure


(Horizontal)" button and wait
until the display of the clicked
button is changed to
"Preparation is completed".

Perform X-ray exposure. During the
exposure, the X-ray exposure shutters of
the collimator moves to the left toward the
window. Release the exposure switch at
the time when the edge of the exposure
field has started to appear in the
Mechanical Alignment window.
(*) In case of selecting the Aluminum
block calibration, the X-ray exposure port
moves to the right toward the window.

Click the "Exposure (Vertical)" button


and wait until the display of the clicked
button is changed to "Preparation is
completed".

Perform X-ray exposure. During the
exposure, the X-ray exposure port of the
collimator moves to upward. Release
the exposure switch at the time when
the edge of the exposure field has
started to appear in the Mechanical
Alignment window.

Click the close (×) button to return to


the exposure field adjustment
window. The dialog window as below
is displayed. Click the "OK“ button,
and the correction values of the
collimator that were generated
previously in this procedure are
displayed on the exposure field
adjustment window.

Click the "Apply" button.

Click the "Take an exposure" button on the Exposure field
adjustment (2D) tool window to set the equipment to the
capture standby state, and then press the hand switch to
emit X-rays.

The area hit by the X-rays is displayed in white


on the green grid (thin lines) of the Mechanical
Alignment window. (The grid spacing is 10 mm
vertical and 1 mm horizontal. The size of the
green grid displayed on the window is 151.0 mm
× 6.4 mm.) Check if this white area fits in the
defined area in the below capture modes. If it
does not fit in the defined area, adjust the
collimator correction values with the Exposure
field adjustment (2D) tool so that the white area
fits in the defined area.

Change each of the collimator correction values (top, bottom, left, and right) so that the white
area fits in the defined area, write the values to the scanner, and then Click “Take an
exposure” and initiate the scan with the Exposure Switch and check the exposure field.

To expand the exposure field:
• Top: Enter a value larger than the current
correction value (+ direction).
• Bottom: Enter a value smaller than the
current correction value (- direction).
• Right: Enter a value smaller than the current
correction value (- direction).
• Left: Enter a value larger than the current
correction value (+ direction).

To shrink the exposure field:


• Top: Enter a value smaller than the current
correction value (- direction).
• Bottom: Enter a value larger than the current
correction value (+ direction).
• Right: Enter a value larger than the current
correction value (+ direction).
• Left: Enter a value smaller than the current
correction value (- direction).

In the Exposure Field Adjustment Tool Select Bitewing panoramic exposure field click the
"OK" button.

Repeat alignment steps until Bitewing exposure field is OK as pictured.

Launch the "Sensor calibration settings" tool.

Click the "Display sensor calibration image" button to launch AJAT Dental Imaging Software
and display the calibration window.

In AJAT Dental Imaging Software, select Tools > Maintenance > Calibration to open the
calibration window, and then click the "Calibrate" button.

Click the "Take an exposure" button, confirm that the window display has changed to "Please
take an exposure.", and then press the X-ray exposure switch to emit X-rays. X-ray exposure
is repeated a total of four times.

After the 4 exposures confirm that the signal light displayed to the left of the window has
changed to green

Click the close (×) button of the "Detection" window to return to the
exposure field adjustment window.

The dialog window as below is displayed. Click the "OK" button, and
the correction values of the collimator that were gotten at the
procedure 1) to 2) will be displayed on the exposure field adjustment
window.

Click the "Take an exposure" button, confirm that the window
display has changed from "Taking an exposure" to "Please take an
exposure.", and then press the hand switch to emit X-rays..

Use the Exposure field adjustment (3D) tool and roughly adjust the
exposure field. Check the captured image displayed in the center of
the tool window. The portions of the image hit by X-rays
are displayed in white, and the portions of the image not hit by X-rays
are displayed in black.

When yellow index lines are displayed:


Adjust the collimator positions (correction values) so that the
white section extends slightly out from the yellow index
lines.

When yellow index lines are not displayed:


Adjust the collimator positions (correction values) so that the
entire image is displayed in white.

[How to adjust the exposure field]
If the pass criterion is not satisfied or one or more part of the four
corners are displayed in black, adjust the exposure field. The
adjustment method is to change the collimator correction values with
the Exposure field adjustment (3D) tool to expand or shrink the
left/right/top/bottom edges with the arrows on the adjustment tool.

Repeat field alignment for the “C10900D Partial Medium FOV 110
offset scan” field and the ”C10900D CT scan partial” field

After the corner adjustments are Green for all three FOV
close the Exposure field adjustment window.

imaging.

When the window display has changed from "Preparing for exposure." to "Please take an
exposure.", press the X-ray exposure switch to capture the image. During imaging, the
window display will change to "Taking an exposure.".

After imaging, wait while "Saving RAW data" is displayed.

6. 3D Digital Calibration
After "Calibration complete" is
displayed, the calibration results
will be displayed on the right side
of the window.

The Center channel U (pixel) must be between 300 and 316.

The Center channel V (pixel) must be less than 608.

If the results are within tolerance then click the "Copy the result" button to apply
the center imaging calibration results to the equipment.

Perform calibration for the offset image.

Change the capture mode to "Offset".

phantom to the center

base, and attach it to

Click the "Start calibration" button to
perform preparations for imaging.

When the window display has


changed from "Preparing for
exposure." to "Please take an
exposure.", press the X-ray exposure
switch to capture the image.
During imaging, the window display
will change to "Taking an exposure.".
After imaging has ended, "Image to
confirm center channel is being
constructed." will be displayed.

6. 3D Digital Calibration
17 images will be created automatically. It
will take several minutes to generate the
images. Open and view the images using
Photo Viewer.

Check the FOV center section of the


aluminum disc displayed in the
confirmation image, find the
image with no vertical offset (split), and
confirm the optimum center channel value
in the file name.

Enter the value of the


best image in the
Center Channel U box
and click “Copy the
result.

9. Ceph 2nd Slit Adjustment

Attach the second slit to the cephalometric unit.
Push on the side that has already been fastened
with set screws, and fasten it with 4 hexagon nuts
from the rear (M3×L6).

After the adjustments have been finished, gently


push the opposite side with the included set
screws, and protect the set screws that come out
with hexagon cap nuts

Launch the X-ERA Adjustment Tool, and then click


the "2nd slit adjustment" button on the tool window.

In the 2nd slit adjustment tool, click the "Take an


exposure" button, and capture an image of
"Center".

9. Ceph 2nd Slit Adjustment

Check the center position exposure field, and
confirm that the exposure field fits in the
frame.

You can make large adjustments in the


horizontal direction with the belt/pulley.
Loosen the 2 hexagon socket head bolts,
and then adjust by shifting the
engagement of the belt and pulley

You can make fine adjustments with the hollow set
screws attached to the left and right of the second slit.

9. Ceph 2nd Slit Adjustment

In the Adjust 2nd Slit tool, click the


"Take an exposure" button, and
capture an image of "Finish position",
"Center", and "Start position".
Check the exposure field from the start
position to the end position, and
confirm that the exposure field
fits in the frame.

If the exposure field at the finish


position is offset as shown in the
following screenshot, correct the
swing offset correction value.

9. Ceph 2nd Slit Adjustment

Launch the Exposure field adjustment


tool from X-ERA Adjustment Tool
again, and select "Exposure field
adjustment (Ceph)".

Set the correction value so that the


exposure fields for "Center" and
"Finish position" become uniform
on the 2nd slit adjustment window.

Make fine adjustments so that the exposure fields become roughly uniform as
shown in Figure A. Figure B shows the exposure fields when the value is too
small.

10. Ceph Ear rod adjustment
Turn the ear rods and nose
support position to the
cephalometric LA position,
and open up the ear rods
to their widest point.

Launch the X-ERA


Adjustment Tool, and click
the "Ear rod adjustment"
button.

10. Ceph Ear rod adjustment
Click the "Take an exposure" button to open the
"Standing by for exposure" window.
Press the X-ray exposure switch on the main unit
to start X-ray emissions and image capturing
while the unit operates.

The captured image is


displayed on the left side of the
window.

Use mouse to zoom/pan.

10. Ceph Ear rod adjustment
Confirm the center position of the
ear markers on the captured image.

The X-ray tube head side has the


larger ear marker.

See Installation manual for details regarding adjusting ear rods.

11. Save Adjustment results to computer

After all adjustments have been finished, save the adjustment
results to the computer.

Launch the Equipment configuration setting


tool from the Adjustment Tool.

On the Equipment configuration


settings tool, click the "Read the value
to change from file" button to
read the adjustment results from the
equipment.

On the Equipment configuration settings tool, click the "Backup the current equipment value"
button to save the adjustment results from the equipment.

* The adjustment results are saved in C:\YCINC\XP81\MaintenanceTools\ComponentSetting.
The adjustment results are saved to a file named ComponentSettingXXXXXXXX.Xml in the
above folder. (XXXXXXXX is the date.)

12. Final Test Exposures

Final QA Pictures
2D Pan Phantom set offset to 0 mm. Set 70kV, 2.0 mA and 12.0
seconds.

Requirement: All ball round and symmetrically positioned.

3D QA Phantom.
Large FOV (low dose) use 70 kV, 2.0 mA, 12.0 s
Small FOV (HQ) use 70 kV, 2.0 mA, 12.0 s

Requirements:
Distance between steel balls 29.6 mm to 30.4 mm
Disk Thickness Axial < 1.0 mm
Short Axis Pin 4.6 mm to 5.3 mm
Standard Deviation < 150
