Jamie's Doggone Good Hot Dog Chili

added by jamie Beecham

This is a very different tasting chili I made for my grilled hot dogs. It has a secret
ingredient that was inspired by my Greek Goddess friend Didi Dalaba. I once
told her that I enjoyed eating at an Italian restaurant here in my home town
which is owned by a Greek. He told me they have a secret ingredient but never would tell me what. She
spilled the beans and I tried a dish of hers with this in the sauce and said hey this might work in my chili
too. Try and see if you like the taste on your hot dog.
Cook time: 45 Min Prep time: 15 Min

Ingredients
1 lb lean ground beef
4 Tbsp chili powder
1 tsp parsley flakes
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp my secret ingredient, cinnamon
1 tsp ground dry mustard
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 box beef broth, 32 oz.
1 medium sweet onions, finely chopped
2 clove garlic, finely grated
3 Tbsp sugar
1 can(s) tomato paste, 6 oz.

Directions
1. In a medium saucepot, cook the ground beef until crumbled fine and done. If there is any
grease then strain the beef out ot the grease.

2. Place back in the pot and add the beef broth.

3. Gather chili powder, parsley flakes, cayenne pepper, black pepper, kosher salt, paprika,
cumin, cinnamon, and ground dry mustard.

4. Let come to a boil then reduce heat to medium/low. Add the spices to the mixture.

5. Add diced onion and grated garlic.

6. Let cook. It will be done in about 45 minutes. Watch to make sure you won't have to add
extra broth or water.

7. After 45 minutes, add the small can of tomato paste and sugar into the mixture. Stir well
then let cook about 5 more minutes.

/
8. Taste to see if it needs any more salt or chili added to the mix.

9. The cinnamon gives this chili a different taste but once you grill your hot dog, add the
onion, chili and sharp cheddar cheese you will experience a wonderful taste.
