Multimeter

1. Note (a) functions and ranges of each function of the MM. For each
voltage range, note,
i) Least count (resolution) & accuracy .
ii) Input impedance of all ranges

2. Operation :
(a)Measurement of voltage
i) Measure DC Voltage.
Use Power supply as source. Connect a set of resistors in series
and apply a voltage across the string. Calculate expected
voltage across each resistor and check with MM
ii) Measure AC Voltage of ac mains and of the given
transformer (secondary voltage).
(b)Measurement of Resistance.
For each range, note,
i) Least count (resolution) & accuracy
ii)Find value of resistors using colour code & confirm
with MM
(c) Measurement of capacitance.
Read value on given capacitor and confirm with MM.
