The Real Hero in My Life

From the day I was born until now, one person was always with me. That person is my

mom; my mom loves me and does everything for me. She was born in Sri Lanka she left her

home to come and have good education. She is very successful; she always sets a good example,

even when she is having a bad day. My mom is loving to pretty much everyone--her students,

colleagues, and most importantly to her family, and myself. My mom is my personal Michigan

hero because she is successful, encouraging, and helpful.

Nothing good in life comes easy; success takes hard work. My mom came from an

average family. Her dad was a businessman, and her mom was a housewife. My mom did her

best in school then she came to America for a scholarship to Wayne State University. She kept

working hard until she got her Ph.D. Now she helps other students do well in college as she

teaches them. She is taking care of my sister and myself. She helps us do homework and she

overall encourages us. She tries to come to my performances whenever she can even after her

extremely busy day at work.

No matter how my mom’s day is, she makes time for me, gives me advice, and is

invariably ready to listen. My mom is very encouraging. First of all, she encourages my sister

and me. She helped her brother throughout college being the older sister. She encourages her co-

workers and all her friends. She says loving words and tries her best to assist them. She

encourages me all the time. Whenever I am having a bad or am not feeling the greatest, she is

always there for me. She is there when I have a boat load of homework and need help studying.

she is able to impact many lives in her job, family, and everywhere she goes through her life

experiences. She helps her students go through their stressful day and their hard chemistry.

This might be cliché, but my mom is extremely helpful. She cooks for my family and she

takes me places. She tells me to focus and takes me to extra-curricular activities. She constantly
reminds my sister and I about our heritage, so we won’t forget. She teaches us good life lessons,

so we don’t make mistakes in the future as we move on in life. My mom wakes up early in the

morning to cook and do all the house cleaning before she goes to work. She holds our house

together; if she wasn’t there it would be a real struggle.

My mom does literally everything for my family. She helped her parents and brother

immigrate from Sri Lanka and is a very helpful person. She tries her best to help the community

and is very charitable to the homeless people by giving them money and food. In spite of her

busy life, she is very successful, always there for me when I need her, and is helpful to all of

those around her.
