Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID -19) is an acute respiratory disease caused by a novel Coronavirus, transmitted in most
instances through respiratory droplets, direct contact with cases and through contaminated surfaces/objects. In other words, COVID-19
spreads in a similar way to flu. Most persons infected with COVID- 19 experience mild symptoms and recover. However, some go on to
experience more serious illness and may require hospital care. Extensive guidelines have been
already issued by MOHFW of Gal and the WHO (available on their websites) for prevention and control of spread of disease, which all
establishments should undertake to follow.
All establishments should establish a core team of personnel under HoE who will be responsible for all activities related to
COVID-19. The responsibilities and activities of this team will be as under:-
