Exercising and having a healthy lifestyle have great importance in people’s life.

As our physical
health influences our mental health, it is of great importance to cultivate it especially at an early age in
order to have a balanced life. But how can children be motivated to do regular exercise?

It is a well-known fact that our brain disposes of neuroplasticity which allows it to model itself
and create connections through which we expose our behavior. This capacity of the brain is very active
in the childhood and is influenced by the environment and the experiences of the person. In this way,
evolving in the surrounding of exercisers as his parents, child’s brain is modeling connections to
exercise. Parents are usually the heroes of a child and he will always try to copy them. Let children copy
the best habits of their parents!

These being said, the school has the same effect on the development of a child. The
environment has a huge impact on brain development of nervous circuits which define us. Living in a
sporty community may influence the activity of the brain and develop it in order to do the same.
Likewise, being surrounded by colleagues who play football, athletics and other sports encourage the
children to enjoy them.

To sum up, I strongly believe parents play a more compelling role in motivating a child to regular
exercise because they are around him more often. A child spends more time doing benefic activities with
his parents than in the perimeter of school. Consequently, exercising can be transmitted to a child from
its sport active parents very easily.
