Intro to Intelligence’s goal is to develop an understanding of how the U.S.
intelligence community operates through the lens of current events. Course Learning Objectives -Increase understanding of intelligence practices within the United States -Become familiar with the effective writing of intelligence briefings and memorandums -Discuss challenges facing the intelligence community while considering the impact of current events Summary of What I Learned I had a very limited knowledge of intelligence organization in the United States before this course. Through in-depth discussion with an engaged class and a professor with direct experience, I was able to grow my understanding. This course combined theory and practical knowledge to ensure that students gained skills that would be applicable in the workforce. Many assignments focused on memo-writing or the deliver of intelligence- based presentations. The type of delivery required in these items is very different from traditional academic writing. It took some practice, but by the end of the course I was able to effectively deliver essential information in a concise and informative manner.
