ACB

 Checked incoming & outgoing connection of ACB.

 Observed equal temperature in all three phases of ACB.

 Electrical resistance increases at points of loose connection and that generates heat. This
means that your heated breaker may simply be loose at bolt.
 Observed excess heat generated at bolted connection of Y-Phase (incoming & outgoing)
than other Phases at both side.

 Clean the contact portions at joints of Y- phase terminal marked as Sp2 & Sp5 of the
ACB and then tighten the bolted connection properly.
 Open up the contact of joint; Clean the contact surfaces of bolted connection and Re-fix
again.

SFU
 Checked incoming and outgoing connection to SFU.
 Observed equal temperature in all three phases of connection to SFU.
 Electrical resistance increases at points of loose connection and that generates heat. This
means that your heated connection of SFU may simply be loose at bolt spot Sp4 (Yph
Incoming).
 Electrical resistance increases at points of loose connection and that generates heat. This
means that your heated connection of SFU may simply be loose at bolt spot Sp4 (Yph
Outgoing).
 Clean the contact portions at joints of Y- phase terminal marked as Sp2 of the SFU and
then tighten the bolted connection properly.
 Open up the contact of joint; Clean the contact surfaces of bolted connection and Re-fix
again.

FUSE
 Checked incoming and outgoing connection to Fuse.
 Observed equal temperature in all three phases of connection to Fuse.
 Electrical resistance increases at points of loose connection and that generates heat. This
means that your heated connection of Fuse may simply be loose at bolt spot Sp4 (Yph
Incoming).
 Electrical resistance increases at points of loose connection and that generates heat. This
means that your heated connection of Fuse may simply be loose at bolt spot Sp4 (Yph
Outgoing).
 Observed Y-Phase (Sp2) at higher Temperatures than other phases on terminal bolted
connection at incoming of fuse.
 Clean the contact portions at joints of Y- phase terminal marked as Sp2 of the Fuse and
then tighten the bolted connection properly.
 Open up the contact of joint; Clean the contact surfaces of bolted connection and Re-fix
again.
 A differential in temperature can be seen across the one fuses with the client stating that
there are known issues with failures of the fuses.
 Observed higher temperature at point Bx1 (Y-phase Incoming) .
 Please remove that fuse inspecting the contact surfaces for oxidisation. The fuses carrier
/ holder should also be inspected and cleaned as required. When refitting please ensure
fuse is secure and that the phase loading is balanced.
Changeover switch
 Checked incoming and outgoing connection to changeover switch.
 Observed equal temperature in all three phases of changeover switch.
 Observed higher temperature at point Sp1(R-ph outgoing) may be due to loose bolted
connection. The higher contact resistance develops heat at that point 52 C.
 Observed Y-Phase (Sp2) at higher Temperatures than other phases on terminal bolted
connection at incoming of Changeover switch.

 Clean the contact portions at joints of Y- phase terminal marked as Sp2 of the
Changeover switch and then tighten the bolted connection properly.
 Open up the contact of joint; Clean the contact surfaces of bolted connection and Re-fix
again.

Cable connection
 Checked outgoing connection of device.
 Observed equal temperature in all three phases of cable connection.
 One of the three phase connections was loose, causing increased resistance at the cable
joints. The excess heating produced a temperature rise of 89 C at Sp1.
 Two of the three phase connections was loose, causing increased resistance at the cable
side connection. The excess heating produced a temperature rise of 60 C at spot Sp3 &
Sp5.
 Observed higher temperature at point Bx1 (Y-phase Incoming) may be due to
Improper crimping of lug and cable joints. The higher contact resistance develops heat
at that point.
 After observation of contactor found heated due to load .
 One of the three phase cable connections was loose, causing increased resistance at the
connector. The excess heating produced in cable due to temperature rise of 84 C at Li1.

 Open up the contact of joint; Clean the contact surfaces of bolted connection and Re-fix
again.
 Clean the contact portions at joints of R- phase terminal marked as Sp1 of the cable
and then tighten the bolted connection properly.
Connector

 Checked incoming and outgoing connection to connector.

 One of the three phase connections was loose, causing increased resistance at the
connector. The excess heating produced a temperature rise of 89 C at Sp1.
 Two of the three phase connections was loose, causing increased resistance at the
connector. The excess heating produced a temperature rise of 60 C at spot Sp3 & Sp5.
 Electrical resistance increases at points of loose connection and that generates heat. This
means that your heated connector may simply be loose at bolt spot Sp4.

 Remove contact at Point Sp1, clean the connector contact surface and re-fix again.

Contactor
 Checked incoming and outgoing connection to contactor.
 One of the three phase connections was loose, causing increased resistance at the
contactor. The excess heating produced a temperature rise of 89 C at Sp1.
 Two of the three phase connections was loose, causing increased resistance at the
contactor. The excess heating produced a temperature rise of 60 C at spot Sp3 & Sp5.
 Electrical resistance increases at points of loose connection and that generates heat. This
means that your heated contactor may simply be loose at bolt spot Sp4.

 Remove contact at Point Sp1, clean the connector contact surface and re-fix again.
 Clean the contact portions at joints of Y- phase terminal marked as Sp2 of the and then
tighten the bolted connection properly.

Motor
 Checked incoming cable connection of motor.
Sp5.
 Open up the contact of joint; Clean the contact surfaces of bolted connection and Re-fix
again.
 Clean the contact portions at joints of R- phase terminal marked as Sp1 of the cable
and then tighten the bolted connection properly.
