mod. MET
Mechanical connectors

1. Description
The "MET" bolted connectors are made of high mechanical and corrosion perfor-
mance tin plated aluminum alloy.
The connection is carried out by hexagonal share head bolts with (TAS)* torque con-
trol system.
(*) The system assures the same contact force for all the conductor cross section range.

Note: see Table models in annex.

2. Use
Connections on LV and MV underground power networks with Al./Cu. conductors. (IEC 60228- Class 1/2)

3. Characteristics
The main characteristics and type tests are in correspondence with the Standard IEC 61238-1 (Class A).

4. Marking
Legible and indelible inscription of the following marks:
• Trademark: NILED / Product reference: MET / Conductor cross sections / Lot number

5. Packing
Presentation in plastic bags set in boxes packaging.

6. Installation
It is recommended to follow, as possible, the following steps for the connector installation:
⇒ Choose the connector type according to the cable cross sections to be connected.
⇒ Remove the insulation in the necessary length (L/2) and brush the conductor.
⇒ Fit the conductor into the sleeve and fasten screws steadily by hand.
⇒ Screw on alternating and slowly until the head shares off.

Recommended tooling:
