(RITES OF PASSAGE)

The rites of passage consist of different stages of life that people have to go through.
These stages of life are considered to some people as a fundamental part of human
being and have to be appreciated. Cultures from all over the world celebrate this
differently and some considered a celebration of some of the passages to be a vital part
in order to move on to the next stage of life. From what I have gathered from this
chapter of learning I have led to believe that I had made some progress in learning new
cultures accepting their methods of living the life. I also realised that my cultures
celebrated varied kind of rites of passage. These celebrations are a form of appreciation
of the life and thankful of the given opportunity to continue on living. I figured that I have
to become more appreciative in life as I inevitable have to go through some stages of
life and these phrases are a stepping stone as a learning programme. For instance, one
of the rites of passage which is transforming from adolescents to adulthood is in a
certain perspective can be conveyed as progressing maturity of a person. From this ,I
learnt that the rites of passage is form as a life lesson opportunity for people to progress
themselves as we continue on living. The rituals that we perform especially in my
culture to celebrate the rites of passage might differ from the way our ancestors
practices it but the rituals still hold the same significant meaning behind it.Last but not
least, I have to keep learning from my past experiences and grow from the rites of
passage that I gone through.
(IDENTITIES)

This topics posses the aspects that shapes a person . Some of my identities are fully
acknowledge by me and I managed to recognized new things that shape my identities.
As I get deeper into the topics, I managed to learn new languages and form of
communication such as sign or body language. They way we communicate contributes
a part of our identity. Thus ,the language that I use in a daily basis played a vital part in
my identities. I also had the luxury to pick up some hand gestures from other cultures
and I found it most interesting when a single hand gesture could be interpreted to
different thing in other countries. I believed that if I was speaking in another language
especially in a second language, I would have a different identity than a language that I
use in a daily basis. Therefore, the form of communications for certain cultures or
nationality is a part of someone as we practices the language. A portion of my identity is
greatly influenced by my culture and the things that I am exposed to. Hence ,my identity
could also be reflected from my surroundings. In conclusion, have to be cautions and
vigilant of situations that I exposed myself to. In hindsight, I also believe that our identity
can be something that you implement on yourself. My identities can be whatever I
wanted it to be. I have complete control of what I want to be define as.I hope to strive
for the best and mind is the only limit.
