HUMSS 11-A

“We may live under different roofs, but we share the same sunlight.” - Luffina Lourduraj.

This quote tells us how people can be so different with each other for we all have our

own lives to live and principles to follow but this also tells us that despite of everything

we do differently at the end of the day we all share the same sunlight. We are all

humans who are occupants of our planets and as humans it is our responsibility to keep

humanity with humility alive.

“Small as a peanut, big as a giant, we're all the same size, when we turn off the light”.

We live in a world where there are people who think of themselves as superior than

others and there are those who think they are lower than the other people in the society,

for that’s what the uppers made them feel. Humans being greedy in nature, takes

advantage of their superiority and degrades those who are below them but we can avoid

this things if we will just turn off the light; close our eyes and let the world know that

there is no one greater or below you.

“Rich as a sultan, poor as a mite, we're all worth the same, when we turn off the light.”

We have this norm in our society where the fortunate ones are more valued than the less

fortunate. People who are born lucky enough with a golden spoon are treated and always
come first than those who are born to fight for their lives. People tend to prioritize those

who have money and power but let me tell you this; we are all worth the same,

regardless of what we have and what we don’t.

“Red, black or orange, yellow or white, we all look the same, when we turn off the light.”

It has been a long time since some people experience racism from those who are

different from them. Physical appearances have affected our world more than we can

think it could. Beauty that can fade dictated many lives. There are those who are not

confident enough because of the bullying they got because of being different but there

should be no such thing like that for we are all unique in our own ways and we all shine

in our styles and we are all beautiful. Let us turn off the lights that set the standards of

being beautiful. We are all beautiful, we are all the same.

“So maybe the way, to make everything right, is for God to just reach out, and turn off

the light!”

Nobody is above everyone else, whether it is color, gender, ethnicity or religious

affiliation. This line refers to sight as the driver for demeaning others as the commonality

of society. In retrospect, sight is taken away by "turning off the light;" therefore we

cannot say the difference between each other, rendering everybody equal.
