Kartilya ng Katipunan

This Kartilya ng Katipunan functioned as a manual for newcomers and those

interested in joining the Revolution. The ideals that a Katipunero should possess are
contained in these books. The Kartilya is a collection of thirteen lessons that serve as
a guide for the Katipuneros in living a moral and ethical life. It's like a rule of behaviour
that demonstrated how to think and act like a real Filipino. This Kartilya ng Katipuan
demonstrates how every Filipino may have a worthwhile existence. Each lesson is
distinct in that it addresses many elements of a person's life. It talked of honour,
compassion, and self-sacrifice, but it also cautioned about the consequences for
traitors and disobedient. A vision for a Filipino nation that is both fair and ethically
sound. In both words and deeds, the Kartilya emphasized the significance of honour.
The Kartilya ng Katipunan made everyone, particularly Filipinos, conscious of the
Katipunan's significance as a revolutionary Filipino people whose major goal was to
get independence from Spain. The life that is not consecrated to a lofty and reasonable
purpose is a tree without a shade, if not a poisonous weed.” This demonstrates the
need of bravery above simply remaining faithful; things will not work out if you simply
rely on faith; you must act since change begins within you. To do good for personal
gain and not for its own sake is not virtue. “It is the act of doing something without
considering what others would think of your conduct, as well as doing the correct thing
wholeheartedly. “It is rational to be charitable and love one's fellow creature, and to
adjust one's conduct, acts and words to what is reasonable.’’ Nothing will move if no
one moves; we must understand why we are in this position; rather than exploiting our
abilities, we must share them with all living creatures, since this is our purpose.
‘’Whether our skin be black or white, we are all born equal: superiority in knowledge,
wealth and beauty are to be understood, but not superiority by nature.” This one is
about equality, the idea that no matter who we are or how different we are from one
another, we are all created with a purpose and have our own place in the world. ‘’The
honourable man prefers honour to personal gain; the scoundrel, gain to honour.” This
demonstrates how we should cherish things that are given to us and intended for us
“To the honourable man, his word is sacred.” We should always be humble, since
being a man who brags about everything can utterly damage one's reputation. “Do not
waste thy time: wealth can be recovered but not time lost.” In other words, time is gold
since we can never go back in time. We can never change the past we can only do is
prepare for the future “Defend the oppressed and fight the oppressor before the law
or in the field.” This demonstrates how Filipinos fought for fellow Filipinos back then,
demonstrating the genuine Filipino personality, unified Filipinos are stronger and
invincible. Fight those who keep bringing others down by oppressing them, and fight
those who keep putting others down by oppressing them. ‘’The prudent man is sparing
in words and faithful in keeping secrets.” A well-educated individual understands
when, where, and how to take talks seriously, as well as the value of secrecy and trust.
“On the thorny path of life, man is the guide of woman and the children, and if the
guide leads to the precipice, those whom he guides will also go there’’ Everyone has
to look up to us because whatever they see in us will be emulated by the others who
see us. “Thou must not look upon woman as a mere plaything, but as a faithful
companion who will share with thee the penalties of life; her (physical) weakness will
increase thy interest in her and she will remind thee of the mother who bore thee and
reared thee.” Every woman is deserving of respect, and no male should see her as an
item or a relic of the past. Girls ought to be treated with dignity and compassion. “What
thou dost not desire done unto thy wife, children, brothers and sisters, that do not unto
the wife, children, brothers and sisters of thy neighbour.” Always keep your loved ones
in mind anytime you are ready to behave in a scenario, and I believe that most
individuals never think twice about fighting. Every action has its own set of
ramifications. If we don't want other people to do awful things to us, we should not do
bad things to them. “ Man is not worth more because he is a king, because his nose
is aquiline, and his colour white, not because he is a *priest, a servant of God, nor
because of the high prerogative that he enjoys upon earth, but he is worth most who
is a man of proven and real value, who does good, keeps his words, is worthy and
honest; he who does not oppress nor consent to being oppressed, he who loves and
cherishes his fatherland, though he be born in the wilderness and know no tongue but
his own.“ having a decent moral character and values A man's life is not defined by
his social standing. Love has no time limit, no criteria, and so on. Love just happens,
and your only responsibility is to decide how to handle it.
