Why are you applying for Financial Aid?

I am applying for financial assistance for my course because I'm unable to afford the cost of the course.

Currently, I'm an unemployed college graduate. I am living with my parents and my two sisters and
brother. My father earns around 500 USD per month and this money goes into the maintenance of our
household and school education for my brother and sisters. I am taking on occasional part-time tutoring
jobs to help students learn English and Mathematics. Unfortunately, the income that comes out of this is
too small for me to afford the fees for online courses.

An acceptance of my application for financial aid would help me gain employment in the area of
Business Analytics. I hope to use the certification provided by Coursera to propel me towards an
internship in the field of data analytics. Overall, this would aid in my pursuit of becoming a data scientist
in the future.
How will taking this course help you achieve your career goals?

This course picks up from the use of Business Metrics to drive data related businesses. It would provide
with a good foundation on building my skills and working towards a profession in Data Science and
Business Data Analysis. I aim to incorporate the skills gained in this course with my other pursuits in
learning to help me become a Data Scientist.

I believe that this course provides me with the skills required to analyse Data with the aid of Excel. As
this is widely used in businesses around the world, it can help me gain a commonly required skill while
setting up the foundation required for more advanced analytic techniques in the world of business.

In addition to aiding me in my desired area of prospective employment, this course can also provide me
with a valid set of independent skills that can be transferred to any data-driven business.

Overall, I believe that taking this course can propel me towards an internship while providing me with a
set of valuable life skills applicable in a large number of subject areas.
