Creating Successful ‘IT Professionals’

For more than 18 years, the School of Information Technology (SIT) of King Mongkut’s
University of Technology Thonburi has continuously delivered high quality IT education and
training. SIT aims to produce highly skilled career focused IT professionals. Furthermore,
SIT’s expert lecturers have extensive experience in many national IT projects. Our lecturers
are able to align students’ perspectives towards globalization with knowledge and
experiences not able to be found in the recommended textbooks. SIT partners with
industry leaders like IBM, HP Networking, and Oracle to provide students with the best
learning tools and certified workshop courses available. The curriculum facilitates the
development of SIT students’ knowledge to enable them to become professionals with
creative and innovative thinking skills.

Master of Science Program in Information Technology (M. Sc. IT)

This curriculum offers an opportunity for students without an Information Technology


degree to pursue higher level IT education and skills. This curriculum is offered as both an
“evening program” and a “weekend program” and emphasizes three areas: Software
Technology, Network Technology, and Management Information Technology. It has been
successful in producing IT professionals sought after by leading international IT companies
and business organizations for 18 years.

Curriculum Structure
The students must complete at least 36 credits. Students can choose between two plans.

Master of Science Program in Business Information System (M. Sc. BIS)

Although this curriculum is available to all undergraduates, they ideally should have
knowledge or experience related to information systems or business technologies.
Weekend classes are offered to integrate study and work. The program focuses on
developing qualified IT professionals with the capability of applying IT knowledge to
modern business information systems. Moreover, they can learn the concepts of IT
analytical observation. Consequently, they can efficiently analyze and adapt information
technology to business systems.

Master of Science Program in Software Engineering (M. Sc. SE)

This is a weekend program that delivers the theoretical and practical knowledge required
by software developers. The emphasis of the curriculum is to produce effective software
specialists. Students will develop the skills and knowledge required in Software
Engineering, Software Engineering Management, as well as the ability to effectively
cultivate collaborative work practices in software development.

Master of Science Program in Computer Science (M. Sc. CS)

This program aims to produce researchers who aspire to attain international


accomplishments. The program is only offered full-time. It aims to support students who
wish to devote themselves to research, realize academic accomplishments, and develop
new knowledge in computer science. The researchers should be able to solve problems
related to computer science and computer applications. Furthermore, students will
develop the ability to efficiently assess the results of research.

Master of Science Program in Bioinformatics (M. Sc. Bio)

This curriculum emphasizes research in both information technology and biology. It


is offered in coordination between the School of Information Technology and the School
of Bioresources and Technology. Students in the program will receive comprehensive
training in genomics, algorithms for sequence analysis, database design and management,
and software engineering and programming (including web-based development). Students
will apply their skills to a practical project, where they will design and implement a solution
to a real-world problem under the guidance of an experienced mentor from industry or
academia.

The School of Information Technology, KMUTT provides its students with state-of-the-art

East Asia for teaching and learning.

Workshop Course:
SIT is the leader in Workshop Learning. Through SIT's strong partnerships with IT industry
leaders like IBM, Oracle, and HP Networking, students have a great opportunity for hands-
on learning, using enterprise class software, equipment and technologies. Students can
also earn professional certifications co-issued by KMUTT and partner orgainzations.

E-Learning:
The School of Information Technology, KMUTT fully realizes the importance of using
various technologies to create the most effective learning experience for our students,
including Learning Management System,Video on demand.
