Prerequisites
The Level 3 classroom training requires basic knowledge of the PAVIRO system.
The Level 1 and Level 2 Web Based Training modules are the entry levels for this Level 3 training.

Configuration Wizard – Case 1

Use Configuration Wizard to build a new system
configuration based on the following:
Smart power management
Twelve zones split into 2 groups of 6 with up
to 500W total speaker power per group
Live announcements and continuous program
playback
One call station with a default button setup
Follow actions on the screen – your first PAVIRO
configuration live online is literally not more than
just 40-50 mouse-clicks away!

Testing – Power Mode Switching

Switching between the normal and standby
power modes can be done manually, using
the “On” function button, which was configured
by default
The button must be pushed and held for
approximately 3 seconds, for each power
state change (the delay helps avoiding
accidental state changes)
Observe, how standby indicators change on
all system devices
System self-monitoring remains active all the
time, hence the audible clicking while in
standby

Testing – Live Announcement

Change power mode to normal
Select zone 1 by pressing its selection button,
which was configured by default
Make an announcement, using the Talk
function button, which was configured by
default
Change system power mode to standby and
repeat the procedure
Pay attention to the slight delay, needed for
the amplifier power switching

Testing – Program Playback

Enter call station menu by pressing two top
left call station menu buttons
Cal station menu is displayed

While having the Program Assignment line
highlighted, press the bottom menu button
Available program list is displayed

select zone 1 by pressing its selection button,
which was configured by default
A program from a source, connected to the
AUX 1 input, is played

zone from the same cluster (2-6)

Press the EVAC message button, which was
configured, using Configuration Wizard
The EVAC message is played
Press the EVAC message button again to stop
the message playback
Using control box switch 1, start EVAC
message, afterwards stop it

General requirements can be found in the

IMPORTANT!
Your display native resolution must be not
less than 1024×768 pixels
Your graphic adapter screen resolution
must be set to match native display
resolution, avoiding aspect ratio distortion
Text size must be set to 100% (default)
If the above rules are not obeyed, some
IRIS-Net GUI elements may be not visible

Firmware Update
Open previously created config4.bm.ds file in
IRIS-Net
Establish connection to the controller unit,
using the “Connect only” option. This will lead
into a simple connection with the PVACON_1
without any parameter synchronisation
Please note, that this connection type is only
intended for the firmware update purpose and
must not be used in other occasions

Double-click the PVACON_1 symbol. The
PVACON_1 Configuration window, displaying
the General tab, will appear
The actual firmware version is displayed in the
CONTROLLER OPERATING SYSTEM
section
Click the UPDATE button

will appear
Check the suggested firmware version against
the current one
If the suggested version is newer, an update is
necessary
Click the START UPDATE button

Differently from the controller, the firmware
update for other devices demands a
connection with parameter synchronisation.
Therefore, in the IRIS Net application main
window click the Online button on the toolbar.
The Going Online … window will appear
Select the Send All to Selected Devices option
and click the Continue button . Wait, until the
parameter synchronisation is finished

devices should be green now

VOICE ALARM State

The PAVIRO system can be programmed to
remain in a voice alarm state, once an alarm
is started
Either automatic or manual release from the
voice alarm state can be selected
Fire code in different countries may require
specific voice alarm state behaviour, which
can be programmed, using Task Engine

Pagings, Program & User Mix

Audio signal handling in the PAVIRO system
can be controlled, using call stations or pre-
programmed routines
Pagings dialog allows configuring audio
routing occurrences, which can be controlled
manually or by automated system tasks
Five different paging types are intended to
handle live or pre-recorded announcements
and generated audio signals
A choice of multiple parameters allow creating
highly customized operating pattern, which
can meet most demanding requirements

Programs dialog allows defining continuous
program playback parameters
Every entry with a defined input channel is
automatically added to the program
assignment list
All programs, defined in the Programs dialog,
can only be controlled, using built in call
station menu
Individual programs have independent priority,
level and call station assignment settings

User Mix dialog allows configuring multiple
continuous program combinations, which can
be controlled manually or by automated
system tasks – similar to the pagings
Due to this, this function can be considered as
a combination of pagings and programs
functions
REMARK: currently, the controller can only
handle one user mix source at a time (multiple
sources can be configured, but should never be
used simultaneously, multiple destinations for the
same source can be used)
