    Assignment 2

    Use heuristics-rules of thumb and the information, the PFD, and the tables given below to solve each
    of the following problems.

    P1 : Determine the diameter of the Acid Tower T-303 using the data provided below and heuristics.
    Assume a pseudo-binary acetic acid-acrylic acid mixture in the tower (i.e., you may ignore the water
    content in the product streams). R = 0.08314 bar.m3/kmol.K.

    P2 : Determine the heat load of the Acid Condenser E-304 and its heat transfer area and number of
    tubes.
