“DURABILITY STUDIES ON CONCRETE WITH PARTIAL REPLACEMENT OF

CEMENT BY GROUND GRANULATED BLAST FURNACE SLAG ”

ABSTRACT:

The concrete is probably the most extensively used construction material in the world.
Now-a-days the cost of the building materials is increasing and availability of the material is
decreasing and due to production of cement CO2 emission is also increasing. To overcome all
these, the cement is partially replaced by the supplementary materials like ground granulated
blast furnace slag (GGBS), fly ash, silica fume, metakaolin etc. In this project GGBS is used as
partial replacement of cement, which is a byproduct obtained from the manufacturing process of
steel.

In this project durability studies are conducted on concrete with partial replacement of
cement with various percentages of GGBS for different water-cement ratios with and without
fibers.
