COVID-19 Information for Georgia (April 13, 2020)

Country-Specific Information:

Georgia has confirmed cases of COVID-19 within its borders. For a current count of cases confirmed and
under supervision click here.  

Effective March 31, the government has imposed a curfew restricting all travel between the hours of
9:00pm and 6:00am. The government also announced additional restrictions on movement and
gatherings throughout Georgia, :

All public transportation is closed;

Travel by personal vehicle and taxis is allowed;

There is a 3 person maximum per vehicle including the driver; passengers must be in the backseat;

Gatherings of 3 or more people are not allowed, except in grocery stores and pharmacies where people
must remain two meters apart;

Persons age 70 or older are prohibited to leave their residence unless going to the closest grocery store,
pharmacy, or hospital;

All persons must carry their identity documents with them at all times.
All commercial businesses except for groceries, pharmacies, gas stations, banks and posts offices are
closed

Fees will be imposed for violation of curfew, self-isolation and quarantine, and other provisions. Full

As of April 13, four municipalities in Georgia have been placed under a strict quarantine order: Marneuli,
Bolnisi, Lentekhi, and four villages in Kobuleti. Cargo and personal movement within the municipalities
continues, but no one is allowed to enter or exit the areas.  

Entry and Exit Requirements:

As of March 21, the Georgian government suspended all air movement.  With few exceptions, all flights
in or out of Georgia will be on Georgian Airways and in coordination with the Georgian government.  

Georgia has banned all foreign nationals from entering the country until at least April 21. Georgian
citizens, their non-Georgian dependents, and diplomats will still be allowed to enter and will
be quarantined for 14 days. 

All land borders remain closed to passenger travel with the exception of Georgian citizens returning to
Georgia or citizens of neighboring countries returning to their home countries.   

Quarantine Information:

On April 2, the Ministry of Health announced that patients who show mild symptoms associated with


COVID-19 (fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit/38 degrees Celsius, cough, shortness of breath) be treated
from home and only hospitalized if their medical condition aggravates.

Anyone who recently traveled to any area with a significant number of infections remain in voluntary


isolation for two weeks, even if they do not have symptoms.
