Compare the class sizes from each school.

The median class size in school A is 20 whilst in school B it is 27 which means, on average, the class
sizes for school B are bigger.

The interquartile range in school A is 21 – 16 = 5, whilst in school B it is 30 – 20 = 10 which means


that the class sizes in school A are more consistent.

IQR = 51.5 – 29 = 22.5
To find any outliers at the top end: 51.5 + 1.5 × 22.5 = 85.25
There are no staff older than 85.25.
To find any outliers at the bottom end: 29 – 1.5 × 22.5 = -4.75
There are no outliers.
