GIVING AN OPINION III

It seems to me there is a lot of replicating going on. People are copying and disseminating
computer files, fashion, ideologies, etc. It is a technological turning point, like the creation of a
printing press.
The pace of competition for new ideas is exhausting. Are you writing me from a computer or a
smart phone?

Perhaps sometimes people over complicate things and confuse ourselves needlessly and
sometimes romanticize the seeming straightforwardness of animals. Humans are very adaptive
and have nervous systems that are exceptionally capable. We took the shape of a bird and made
it a vehicle. We took the nervous system of a crab and used it as a way to communicate
information from the moon to earth.

Philosophically, I am not in disagreement with you. If you can get your hands on a copy of the

High culture is the cultural expressions of social and political elite. Low culture is the expression
of the low social and political people. Popular culture is usually most overtly of low culture but is
often synthesized and distributed through high culture.

The way I would articulate your point about social studies is that they are just academic models
of complex phenomena, like a photograph is not reality or a doll is not a person. But the model
can present some insight or novel presentation of an otherwise unexamined detail.

There was a witty bit of 90's subculture that made the quip, "I make a living by breathing oxygen."
Are you married? Do you have kids? What do you do for fun or to relax?
