First twins to reach 125 years old

In a small house, far away from the noise and rush of the big city, in the location of

Vilcabamba, in the south of Ecuador, live Manuela and Elsa Carpio, the first twins to reach

125 years old. Surprisingly, these women are full of life. They enjoy themselves doing their

passions: Manuela gardening the plants and Elsa playing the violin.

Manuela and Elsa are asserted by their relatives and neighbors to have witnessed the most

important events in the history of the republic, starting with the transformation in the

infrastructure and community services, passing through the numerous political changes to

the progress in technology. The twins are thought to have experienced all these events that

have modified Ecuadorians’ lives.

It seems as though that they are going to continue keeping the long life record.
