Machine
In order to train students on Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software and CNC machinery, it is necessary
for us to purchase a well-rounded CNC machine. The primary purpose of the machine is to train students on the
basic software and applicable skills in real-world machining. A secondary use of the machine will be to help other
classes, campuses, and administration with various projects in the district.
• 3-axis machining
• Cutting Area no less than 48” x 96” x 6” (allowing us to cut full sheets if material)
• An onboard spindle router with CNC speed control with a minimum of 2.2 HP
• 110 or 220 V single phase wiring
• A machine that is capable of supporting our current CAM software – Aspire
• A z-axis zero plate or similar mechanism which allows for perfect vertical height on each job
• Resolution of .001” or better
• Emergency stop capabilities for safety while working with students
• Vacuum hold-down capabilities
