God of Wonders – Reset, Restore, Renew

Welcome: on behalf of the friends and members of Park United Methodist Church and Boonville Alliance Church, I
welcome you to worship. This first week following Easter has seen and uptick in our stay-at-home restrictions. We now
must wear masks in public. Although things around us continually change, God never changes. He is steadfast and
unmovable. He sent Jesus into this broken world to restore hope and life to those who believe. Do you believe? Is you
hope in Christ alone? Whether your faith is strong or weak, draw near to the Savior who gives life and hope freely to all
who come to Him in faith. Let us draw near Jesus as we pray together.

Father God, We draw near to you this day to worship in your presence, to lift our prayers to you and to listen for your
voice as you speak into our lives. Give us ears to hear, faith to believe and obedient hearts to live out your calling in
our lives. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!

Call to Worship
(inspired by Psalm 27)

God is our light and our salvation; whom shall we fear?

God is our shelter and refuge on the days of trouble,
and our hope and joy on the days of celebration!

Day after day, we seek God’s face and the assurance of God’s holy love:
O God, do not turn from us or hide your face from us!
Be our guide and our light instead!

One thing we ask of God:

That we may live in God’s dwelling place all the days of our life,
and never cease to behold the beauty of God’s home.

Beloved of God, enter this worship in thanksgiving,

for God is among and within us!
Thanks be to God!

Reset, Restore, Renew

Reset: Peter and the disciples went fishing. v3

Restore: Jesus cooked for and fed the disciples. He then took Peter for a walk. He addressed the elephant in the room!
verses 9-14

sheep.” v15-19

Application: Does your life need a “reset?” Do you feel like you are too far from God to return to Him? Have let God
down or rebelled against Him and feel you are too bad for God to forgive you?

Do you need Jesus to “restore” you? Are there elephants in your life that need to be dealt with, but you are too afraid
they are permanent? What are your elephants? Will you allow Jesus to ask the hard questions that need to be asked to
set you free and restore your relationship with Him?

If your heart is hard and hearing His voice is difficult, turn from your sin and bitterness confessing to the only One who
with the power to forgive. Wait, ask for the ability to hear and wait for Jesus to speak His forgiveness into your life.

Do you need Jesus to “renew” you? Jesus has work for you to do. His call is the same for each of us: to follow Him, to
make disciples and to reach the lost sheep around us. You have a field into which Jesus has set you—serve Him joyfully,
diligently, and faithfully! Jesus is counting on us to share the Good News of Christ’s salvation that everyone will have the
opportunity to be saved!

We all need God to hit our Reset button periodically in order to restore and renew us for His glory!
