MISSION STATEMENT
1. Supervise research for the staffs and students.
2. Maintain an overall knowledge of the College’s top prospects to assist
fundraisers in developing appropriate cultivation, solicitation, and
stewardship strategies; reference and represent that information at
meetings and in discussions, as needed.

3. Ensure adherence to professional standards and ethics of prospect


research.

4. Identify and promote professional growth opportunities for staffs.

5. Set departmental and individual employee goals and provide routine


evaluations of progress toward these goals. 

6. Provide direct prospect research services to a small portfolio of senior


fundraisers.

7. Develop and oversee budgets and policies and procedures for the
Research Unit.

8. Evaluate research tools and emerging technology and coordinate


vendor relations.

9. Develop a team and monitor or supervise college monthly magazine.

10. Identify new areas of opportunity(new programmes) for the


college to grow in the new field of study.

11. Set, monitor and guide the students to developing entrepreneur


club, through which develop students as real-time entrepreneurs.

12. Maintain an awareness of the goals and accomplishments of the


College and of issues within the development profession.

13. Perform other duties as assigned.

KIGS RESEARCH CENTRE


KIGS Research Centre is an Academic and Industrial research Centre formally structured
as a organizational unit of the Kolej IGS. The purpose of our research Centre is to engage
in research, study or other academic and industrial focus in specific areas and to
encourage lectures and students to conduct researches in their specialized area and
published those works in world accepted medias. KIGS research Centre also provide
unique research training opportunities for the lectures and students to be succeed in there
research task.
ANNUAL WORK PLAN
1. ACTIVATING KIGS ALUMNI CLUB
Alumni association means “it is an association of former students of a college associates for
performing various activities to support the college strategies in future.
The Alumni club in college IGS formed in 2006, therein after the registration process carried out
to for the membership. About two hundred plus students were registered with the alumni club
until date.
Alumni club can be contributing in many ways to the college, the listed below are some of the
ways the alumni can bring positive impacts to the college.
 Support System: the network alumni bring their experience and skills to the college that further
helpful for the current students and if we keep them well inform and maintain them, they are the most
loyal customers for the business.
 Offering Expertise: Engaging alumni with current students will bring advantage in many ways such
as their experience can be shared through seminar and talk shows will be a carrier guidance for the
current student while placements, Industrial attachments and business networking.
 Assistance in Employability: The best sources for the current students to get their placement are
through alumni network; they can help the current students to get the placement in their respective
organization by using their influences.
 Mentorships and Scholarships: Alumni can play an active role in voluntary programs like mentoring
students in their areas of expertise. They also play a significant role in contributing scholarships to
deserving students. Alumni get in touch with students and share their expertise and best practices in a
given field.
 Apart from the above, there are other benefits like reconnecting with friends, advise and guiding the
fellow alumni helping them to uplift in their carrier, leveraging the alumni professional carrier,
leveraging the alumni community can be win-win for both institution and alumni and advance the
carrier paths by internal connections who works for the top companies.

In order to achieve the above benefits, we need to transform the alumni club into association, for
that the follow tasks will be carried out this year. (Duration: April 2020 until August 2020)

1.1 TASK – 1: Organizing Existing Registered members


SUB-TASK - 1: Collect existing member list from Hajah. Wan

SUB-TASK - 2: Organize a preliminary meeting with existing register member

SUB-TASK – 3: Appointment of alumni staffs from existing members

SUB-TASK – 4: organize opening ceremony by existing register alumni students

SUB-TASK – 5: Start new registration process through existing alumni members

2. SET-UP KIGS INCUBATION CENTRE (KIGS - HIVE)


According to the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA) defines business incubators
as a catalyst tool for either regional or national economic development 1. Academic business
incubation is a new paradigm of study practice among the contemporary education models.

KIGS can play a vital role in business incubations with the help of alumni’s; they can build a
chain of network connections, expertise, skills and influences that they can support unemployed
alumni’s who is still not settle in their carrier.

Establishing incubation centre in our institution can bring various benefits to the institution and
for the society in various ways, such as.

a. Creates Good will among the alumni and makes them the most loyal customers to the institution
and that helps to bring more students for the college.
b. By establishing incubation centre in our college will help to decrease unemployment rate in Brunei
and recognized as premier institution supports welfare of the society.
c. When the rate of employability increase among the alumni will increase the student strength in
every intake, due to the recognition what we achieve among the society
d. Academic incubation is added revenue to the institution when successful business concept can be
bid to other corporate in future.
e. Brining incubation programs will pave the ways for increase their morels and innovations among
the current students undergoing programs.
f. More research opportunities and more scope of business opportunities will be created.

Incubation center will be setup by proceed by the following tasks:

2.2 TASK – 2: Legalities (Identifying the Licensing procedures and formalities to obtain license
if any in Brunei to start incubation centre)

2.4 TASK – 4: Policies & Procedures (Gathering knowledge to smoothen the operation

programs and business concepts)

2.6 TASK – 6: Programs (To conduct various kinds of activities to improve the knowledge and
morals of the students)
SUB-TASK - 1: I- Centre Boot Camp (Conducted by i-Centre for new members of the
incubation, we are planning start with this program for the alumni members who is
willing to participate with our incubation program).

SUB-TASK - 2: Work Shop's (Member’s will be undergo workshop’s like constructing


business plan, budgeting, forecasting financial books, market techniques, e-Commerce
and etc..,)

SUB-TASK - 3: Seminar's (To get additional knowledge in various business areas and
latest updates in current business trends)

SUB-TASK - 4: Industrial Visit (Members will be taken for industrial tour to gain
practical knowledge about various industries in Brunei and Overseas)

SUB-TASK - 5: Industrial Training (In order to gain special knowledge required for
operating certain industry training will be given by placing the students in the relevant
industry)

SUB-TASK - 6: Business Plan/ Ideas implementation (This is the final stage of


incubation process, member will try to implement their ideas with the help of special
guidance under group of lecturers, alumni icons and industrial network team comprise
banks, consultant other non-profit organization).

3. SURVEY ON NEW EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FOR IDENTIFYING THE NEEDS OF


TEACHING QUALIFICATION BY SECONDARY AND PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN BRUNEI
The management is planning to start a new education department in our college and this task is
assigned by our CEO to R & D department with the following objectives:

3.1 OBJECTIVES
a. To recognize the ideal demand for the new educational programme in the market.
b. To develop a strategy for marketing the new educational programme.
c. To find out the requirement of primary and secondary schools in terms of :
i. Level of qualification
ii. Programme areas
d. To find the required time frame that they expect to complete their studies.
e. To judge the ideal value of money affordable by the potential students.
f. To identify the mode of studies that they prefer.

With the above objectives, our R&D team likes to proceed with the following steps:
3.2 TASK – 1, BRAINSTROMING (It is a technique used by a group to find out the possibilities
and risk factors towards objectives, R&D team will brainstorm related to the above objectives in
order to find out the possibilities and risk factors towards the objectives and prepare the
strategies in this stage).

3.3 TASK – 2, CONSTRUCTING QUESTIONAIRE (Based on the outcome of brainstorming the


questionnaire will be prepared; R & D team is planning to frame within 10 questions for this
survey).
