IIIT BHUBANESWAR (Programming Society)

1. Schedule. Like their timeline for events, when they start etc.
There is no structured timeline of events. Inductions are conducted at the starting of each
semester. They have sessions to interact and clear doubts and stuff once a week.

2. How they keep people motivated.


They organise contests with prize money. Contes questions are given by senior members of
the society.

3. Enquire about organizational structure like secretary, governor things.


Coding club under programming society. They have secretary and members in the club with
the involvement of one or two faculties.

4. Involvement of faculty.
No involvement of faculty on a frequent basis. A couple of faculties are appointed to mediate
funds required.

5. Participation and achievements in competitions.


Very active in GSoC. Last year they had 8 students who qualified for GSoC.
Team PlutoAR wins 1st prize in #UnitedByHCL Hackathon held in Old
Trafford,Manchester(U.K.).
Two teams(Pied Piper and Web Samaritans) win 1 st and 2nd prize in Smart India Hackathon
Organized by GOI
Sweta Kabi and Baibhav Kumar win 2 nd Singapore India hackathon held on September 28-
30,2019

6. Senior junior interaction


Pretty active and frequent. Seniors clear doubts raised by juniors.
7. How much do people spend time on development and competitive coding.
This is subjective. Anyone can pursue any field, no restrictions. So, people do competitive
coding and also development. Dedicated people spend a lot of time in their field of interest.

8. Workshops conducted.
Workshops are conducted regarding GitHub, GSoC, Hacktober fest, etc.
Dell conducted a hackathon on interesting themes based on AR/VR and e-commerce.
