About the club

With the vision of allowing students to move beyond the textbooks to put
their technical abilities to the test, the Department of Information Technology
proposes the establishment of the ‘Beta Bots’.
Beta Bots is a technical club of IT department of SRM Ramapuram. The
club is all about making the members to participate in hackathons, ideathons
and various events.
It is a club which provides a place for the introduction of cohort study
regarding principles and practices that are the foundation of understanding how
technology and engineering support each other as well as how they work. At the
heart of the Technology Club initiative lies true understanding of what we know.
A mode of thought that goes well beyond the standard division of software and
hardware, and that provides a framework within each student the ability to
reason about systems and problems. This mode of thinking and understanding is
supported and complemented by substantial theoretical and practical knowledge
applications which enlighten the participants.
The club also will promote the hackathons to other students in the
department which provides tips and hints to the participating team. The club
also has a rich history of conducting various events such as Treasure hunt, bid-
wars( A virtual auction ), Guest lectures( Full stack web development by Mr.
Siddhant Pradhan ), Webinars, Seminars. The club is active for 2 years and is
still continuing its glory for the benefit of the department.

Objectives
 This club would be set up with the intention of giving students the
opportunity to explore trending technical topics, enhance their coding
capabilities, and engage in constructive skill- building activities.
 This club seeks the active participation of specific alumni of the IT
Department who would provide mentorship to the students and positively
contribute to the growth of the club.
 To provide practical subject matter promoting the ability for invention,
resourcefulness and ultimately innovation.
 To make the team to work in projects and showcase them in hackathons.
 To train the members in their interested technical aspects.

Outcome:
 Our members will have the potential to excel and this club would serve as
a tool to help facilitate the discovery and development of this potential
into outstanding results.

Achievements:
 Beta Bots team were the finalists of Poornima hackathon, Poornima
University, Jaipur
 Beta Bots team were the finalists for 3M – Young Innovators challenge
and won badges, LOR, certificates and much more.
 Beta Bots team achieved special mention in SRM Abhigyan hackathon,
Vadapalani.
 A team from Beta Bots secured a place on Alexa challenge, Mueseaum of
possibilities, Chennai.
 A team from Beta Bots secured 3rd place in Pitch-2-IT hackathon,
Symbiosis Institute of information tech.
 Beta Bots members were the college representative for Abhyuday, A club
in IIT Bombay.
 Beta Bots conducted a unique event known as Bid-wars and received
tremendous response.
 Beta Bots conducted Treasure hunt event during Aurganon 2022.
 Beta Bots were a core team for code-a-thon to empower coding
knowledge on school students.
 Beta Bots conducted a guest lecture cum seminar on Full stack web
development.
 Beta Bots conducted numerous webinars and inter club events during
lockdown.
