Aspects of a Diverse Workplace

1. Race – refers to a person’s physical characteristics, such us bone structure and the skin,
hair, or eye color.
2. Ethnicity – refers to cultural factors, including nationality, regional culture, ancestry and
language.
 Race and Ethnic diversity in the workplace refers to a heterogeneous workforce with
respect to physical, social and cultural qualities.
3. Gender – refers to a work environment, means that men and women are hired at the
same rate, paid equally for equal work, and promoted at the same rate.
4. Religion – religion in the workplace can bring up some of the most difficult issues an
employers have to face.
5. Political Ideologies – different beliefs and perspectives on politics is another way to have
an effective performance in the workplace in a way that different ideals can be used to
make improvement in the organization or the so-called innovation.
6. Sexual Orientation – every sexual identity has its own contribution in the workplace
particularly their flexibility as a worker.
7. Age – different ages in the workplace improves performance and productivity, can
reduce employee turnover, and it drives innovation.
8. Physical Abilities or Socio-economic status – different abilities of the workers is a big
help in the workplace. Socio-economic status is also vital in improving the productivity
in the workplace, having different backgrounds can bring a different ideas and
knowledge that will help for the betterment of the organization.
