Application Instructions
Mixing ratio Part A : Part B = 100 : 11 (by weight)
Mixing Components A and B must be stirred up thoroughly before being mixed together. Then
while maintaining the correct aspect ratio, mix vigorously component A with component B.
Whilst mixing 10 kg units, observe the following instructions:
1. electric or pneumatic stirrer, approx. 600‐800 rpm
2. mixing time approx. 60 to 80 seconds
3. make sure to properly reach walls and bottom of container.
During mixing until approx. 3 minutes afterwards, material remains liquid (pourable) and
subsequently turns into a thixotropic, sag‐resistant, trowel‐applicable consistency.
For 10 kg units, we recommend mixer CX 40 with stirrer WK 140 of Messers, Collomix or
mixer MXP 1000 EQ with stirrer HS2, 140 x 160 of Messers, PROTOOL.
Caution: Material is moisture‐sensitive. Apply only on dry surfaces.
Priming The concrete, steel or masonry substrates should be primed with Sika® ZP Primer, which is
applied with a brush, in undiluted form on (properly prepared) clean and dry surface.
Consumption of Sika® ZP Primer depends on the condition and absorption of the surface
and is from 0.1 kg/m² to 0.3 kg/m². The material after opening the container must be used
Sika® PS 2/4
within one day.
If expected waiting time between priming and pouring Sika® PS is more than 3 days or if
the concrete is fresh (i.e., its age does not exceed 20 days, but the humidity is less than 4%)
or a corrosion protection is required, SikaCor® 277 shall be used for priming in an amount
of about 0.7 kg/m2 to 0.8 kg/m2. The freshly applied coating should immediately be
broadcasted with quartz sand 0.4 – 0.7 mm. After drying the unbound sand should be
removed.
If substrate moisture exceeds 4% (by weight) Sikadur®‐53 shall be used for priming in an
amount of about 0.8 kg/m2. Immediately after the application of the material should be
broadcasted with quartz sand 0.4 mm to 0.7 mm. After drying the unbound sand should be
removed.
Application Method / Tools Apply Sika® PS according to the descriptions in the Product Data Sheet. Make sure that the
substrate and the surfaces which will to be joined are clean and dry.
Sika® PS can be applied by trowel. Fill spaces with liquid material to create flexible
connections, or cover the surface. When attaching fibre composites, moisten the
composite fibre using a roller. Thickened fresh material can be applied to surfaces to be
joined with a trowel, and then press them together. Extrude Sika® PS material level with
spatula or stiff brush.
Cleaning of Tools Clean all tools and application equipment with Sika® Colma‐Cleaner immediately after use.
Hardened and/or cured material can only be removed mechanically.
Pot life Approx. 15 minutes at + 20°C
After this time, the mixture becomes unserviceable. Higher temperatures or too long
mixing time will shorten pot life!
Do not add any solvents!
Waiting Time / Overcoating
Product Minimum Maximum
Sika® ZP Primer 1 hour 3 days
SikaCor® 277 1 day unlimited*
Sikadur®‐53 1 day unlimited*
* The surface with quartz sand
Curing Details
Applied Product ready for Surface hardening after approx. 3 h at + 20°C
use The ability to pre‐load after approx. 24 h at + 20 °C
Full load after approx. 72 h at + 20 °C
Notes on application To ease application material temperature should preferably be +15°C or above. The layer
thickness should be from 3 to 30 mm. For maximum adhesion to concrete, loose particles
and laitance must be removed mechanically, e.g. by abrasive blasting.
Use of appropriate primers will significantly improve adhesion, especially on porous
substrates.
Value Base All technical data stated in this Product Data Sheet are based on laboratory tests. Actual

may vary from country to country. Please consult the local Product Data Sheet for the exact
description of the application fields.
Health and Safety
Information
Sika® PS 3/4
Health Information / Use protective clothing, gloves and goggles, and protective respirators. Part B contains
Environmental Protection isocyanates which may cause irritation and – under permanent exposure – sensitization of
skin, eyes and respiratory tract and may also lead to allergic reactions. Allergic persons
and persons tending to illness of respiratory tract should not come into contact with this
kind of materials. Therefore avoid direct contact with the liquid components (chemical
resistant gloves/goggles/clothing) to prevent direct contact with skin and eyes. Prior to as
well as after application use fat‐free barrier cream. After completion of work clean skin
with plenty of soap and water and again protect with fat‐containing barrier cream. Direct
contact with the skin may lead to irritation and redness. In case of contact with the
mucosa, immediately wash the eyes with large amounts of clean, warm water, and then
consult a doctor. During use of the material in small, confined spaces provide adequate
ventilation and do not use an open flame. In areas with limited ventilation use personal
respiratory protection.
Sika® PS in the unbound state (liquid) may cause water pollution. Do not dispose of in
sewer, drain or surface waters. Should always lead to bind the remaining components A
and B. The cured material can be disposed as a plastics.
