What major transformation have you observe in the curriculum of Philippine
education ?

Asnwer:

It should have been the Philippines “K to 12” Program, a comprehensive reform of

its basic education. This reform help the Philippines to catch up with global
curriculum in secondary education and is attaching a high value to kindergarten. This
policy appears admirable and timely, but it faces some pedagogical and problems.
This program also makes possible the seamless continuality of education from
kindergarten. elementary school to high school. Graduates will gain a high school
diploma, and they can also acquire a Certificate of Competencies or a National
Certification showing that they have acquired a mid-level of skill in their
specialization when going on for higher education or getting a job.

What are the challenges faced by the Philippine education system

with the introduction of the K to 12 curriculum? As a student and
future educator, how will you cope up with these challenges?

Maybe the biggest challenges faced by the Philippine education system is the
extension of secondary education by the age of 17. The overloaded curricula
because of schools had to cram many hours on courses into their curricula in order to
fulfill mandated educational requirements, the non-eligibility of graduates to
immediately enter overseas tertiary educational institutes because of the younger age
of Filipino high school graduates, and the ineligibility of graduates to take up
employment immediately because of being under the legally employable age. Not in
the old curricula high school are required to finish the 4 years of precourse. As a
student and future educator, I recommend the presence of every parent to support
their son or daughter while studying, by these movement it can prevent school drop-
off or early teenage pregnancy. Because studying takes a lot of time and patience,
students need to be empowered and inspire by their parent not only by their teachers
or instructor. School year is known to be the hardest way to become successful in the
future. Because education is the greatest equalizer for people social status.

What is your perspective in the implementation of K to 12 for the

Philippine education system to cope up with the globalization?
My point of view is that us Filipino already complied by the globalization for education
attainment. It is the longest year you study for the right carrier you want to obtain. Though this
program have a backlash due to the insufficient classroom and the lack of teachers instructional
materials like the textbook, which have been a delayed to revise. But this program help Filipino’s
to have a solid legibility for their chosen job. Also “Kto12 program aims to bring about
integrated and competative Filipinos with 21st century skill, who are ready for employment,
have entrepreneurship, and who possess mid-level skills and higher education upon graduation
from high school. This program help to preserve the nations mother language which was not
been taught to the old curricula. School scholarship are offered to every deserving students,
Government also initiated free seminars like TESDA.

Cite evidences on the relationship between teacher leadership and student

achievement and school performance.

students.

5. Teacher Leaders as Agent of Innovation

Successful teachesr have the brightest innovation to be accepted by their other teachers. While
student are been task to possess knowledge and skills. School give extra effort to have creative reforms
in the classroom.

As a future teacher, do you think that you will be able to accept leadership
responsibilities. W hy? Why not? (10 pts) Textbook pages 71-89.
As a future teacher, I have been given a duty to promote leadership and to be the best role model
of my students. Teachers have opportunity to strengthen the relationship of school and the
community. Why? Because I believed that as future teachers, we help students to be successful
someday. Every teacher’s leadership are different from one another, because due to the demands
of each school he or she assign to work. Without teachers, education cant be attained by random
reading a textbook. It should be properly explained to have a clear mind. Teachers are helping
the community to have a successful carrier throughout leadership responsibilities. As future
teacher, I am compelled to accept leadership as to be the promoter of excellent education. I can
accomplish this by having a healthy mind and a strong bond from the school. Their nothing I
cant accomplish if it can be done like the other future teachers. I believed in EDUCATION a
great equalizer for social statues. KNOWLEDGE is a treasure that cannot be stolen. TEACHER
are the second parent of every student. They are the reason why we are going to school, not just
to meet our friends or classmate. My 1st year experience of this year is that, EVERY SECOND
count toward being a successful someday.
